The times they are changing, the history of Cannabis in the United States is a unique one. Did you know? Washington DC has legalized personal use of cannabis but, not commercial sale. Now, the question remains when and where will one be able to purchase marijuana in Washington, D.C. for personal usage. Nevertheless, a national celebration is coming to celebrate cannabis legalization progress. Yep, The National Cannabis Festival announced today that American hip hop trio De La Soul will be the headlining performer for the NCF inaugural event.
What: The National Cannabis Festival will consist of four 4 unique components celebrating progress on cannabis legalization in DC and across the nation. A full day concert on the main festival stage, an advocacy fair, an education pavilion and a vendor fair. NCF will bring together more than 20 advocacy groups listed below with the shared interest of educating, informing and influencing cannabis policy at the state and/or federal level across the USA.
Look forward to performances by Congo Sanchez, dance-hall sensation Jesse Royal, as well as DC go-go favorites Backyard Band and local reggae group Nappy Riddem will set the entertainment tone for an afternoon of art, advocacy and education in celebration of progress on ending cannabis prohibition in Washington, D.C.

“National Cannabis Festival is an important event for our city and the nation,” said Anwan Glover of Backyard Band. “Cannabis policies impact everything from equal justice to the economy. It’s time we recognized this community and industry with a big celebration in DC.”
