Update: both dogs are safe! They were pulled by the Pinella Humane Society! If interested, contact them for more information.
Two dogs were adopted together four years ago from Pasco County Animal Control. They arrived at the county shelter together, young, scared, and nervous. But they were lucky. They went together to a loving family where they were cherished and loved.
They lived with their family for several years but, tragically, the mother of the family died. Her mother promised her daughter that she would keep the dogs and keep them together, but now she has gone into a nursing home and cannot care for them. She was heartbroken to leave them at the county shelter. She begged the shelter to find them a home together.
Wolfie and Zeus love each other. You can see from the pictures that they are rarely apart. They sleep snuggled together on the couch, they walk side-by-side in the yard, they stay close when on walks. Both dogs are great with children and are good with other dogs. Zeus is a bit alpha, but with proper introductions, they could live with other dogs. Any prospective home should have no cats, though.
Zeus is a five-year-old St. Bernard mix and Wolfie is a five-year-old border collie mix. Both are sweet and gentle. They both take treats very gently and are housebroken.
Someone who met Wolfie wrote:
I did a meet and greet with Wolfie. He was very sweet and perfectly trained. Knows sit, shake, lay down, stay, and come. When he first got into the play yard, he pooped, and pooped, and pooped. About 6 times as if he’d been holding it ever so patiently. What a sweet boy!
They were both kept indoors and walk well on a leash. They like to play ball and play in the yard. Please share their story. It’s almost impossible to get two dogs adopted together! Yet these dogs are easy dogs to love, and they would be easy dogs to live with. They are heartbroken at leaving the place where they lived so happily. Please help them find love again — together.
The dogs DO have a rescue IF there is a person who will offer to foster!! The rescue is Cinagrofarm. Please share for foster!
