Fans will watch Spurs vs. Cavs live stream online and televised game coverage as their anticipated 2016 NBA basketball matchup arrives Saturday night. Right now, Cleveland remains the best overall team in the Eastern Conference, with San Antonio second-best in the Western Conference. Both teams have recently been routed by the Golden State Warriors, but will look to show who might be the next-best team overall in the league. Cleveland has the home court advantage where they’re 18-3 this season. San Antonio has gone 14-7 on the road and are expected to be without big man Tim Duncan as the 2016 NBA live streaming and TV presentation comes from ESPN and ABC networks for Saturday prime-time.
On Jan. 29, KENS5 News out of San Antonio reported that Tim Duncan will sit out his third-straight game tonight against Cleveland due to a knee injury. He had an MRI on the knee several days ago and right now it doesn’t appear there will be any major surgery or rehab necessary for him to get past it. With that in mind, resting the big man has been an important aspect of the team’s overall goal in making it deep into the playoffs and possibly contending for the championship again. The addition of LaMarcus Aldridge seems to have taken some of the worry over having a superstar like Duncan on the floor, and the emergence of All-Star Kawhi Leonard has also been key.
Tonight they’ll be at LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Cavs have been making headlines for dumping a coach with a winning record this season who brought them to the NBA Finals last season. Tyronn Lue has taken over for now and lost in last weekend’s debut coaching matchup when the Chicago Bulls came to town. At some points, there were even boos from the fans. Right now Cleveland’s on a three-game winning streak, with two of those games coming at home against Western Conference opponents. Most recently they defeated the Pistons in Detroit, 114-106, with the “Big 3” of LeBron, Love and Irving scoring a combined 77 points. Tristan Thompson added a double-double with 11 points and 14 rebounds, with the Cavs winning the battle of the boards 47-39.
Tonight’s point spread first opened as a “pick em” situation, but is at two points in favor of the visiting Spurs. The over/under is set around 204 to 205 points for the game. So far this season, Cleveland has gone 20-23-2 overall against the spread, with a 10-11-0 home record against the number. The Spurs are 30-15-1 ATS overall and 13-8-0 when playing on the road. Both teams are among the top three contenders to win the NBA Finals, trailing Golden State, with San Antonio at 2 to 1 odds to win it all and Cleveland just below them with odds of 17 to 5 to win the championship.
