Fans will watch Pacers vs. Cavs live stream online and televised basketball game coverage Monday night as the 2016 NBA schedule continues past the halfway mark. The Cleveland Cavaliers remain the top team in the Eastern Conference at 41-17 but have the Toronto Raptors right on their heels, just two games behind. Indiana at 31-28 is trying to stay amongst playoff teams in the East as they have both Charlotte and Chicago underneath them in the No. 7 and 8 spots. Tonight’s NBA game featuring superstars Paul George and LeBron James takes place at Quicken Loans Arena with the live streaming online and televised coverage through the NBA TV network or League Pass.
On Feb. 29, NBA.com reported that both teams will be coming off back-to-back losses heading into this pivotal matchup which is also a preview of a potential first round playoff matchup. Just recently, LeBron James sat out to rest and the Cavs fell 113-99 to the Wizards in Washington despite 28 points from Kyrie Irving. Prior that game, the Cavs dropped a 99-97 game at Toronto with James’ last second shot attempt coming up short prior to the buzzer. The last time the Cavaliers played the Pacers, Irving was the leading scorer with 25 points, while LeBron James had a double-double of 24 points, 12 rebounds and six assists. Kevin Love also had 19 points to go with eight rebounds in the team’s Feb. 1 victory at Indiana.
The Indiana Pacers fell in two-straight home contests including their most recent, a 111-102 defeat by Portland. Prior to that, the Hornets edged Indiana 96-95 on a last second drive by guard Kemba Walker. The Pacers currently rank No. 12 in the league in points scored with 102.4 per game, while allowing 100.5 per game to opponents. The Cavs rank ninth in the league in scoring and fourth in defense, with a point differential of 5.7 over their opponents on average per game. Cleveland also ranks eighth in the league in rebounding with the Pacers at No. 11, so this game may come down to the battle of the boards and those second-chance shots as well as whether or not LeBron or Paul George heats up for their respective teams.
The odds for the game favor the home team as Cleveland is an eight point favorite to win tonight’s matchup. On the moneyline, the Cavs are priced at -335 while Indiana is a +270 underdog. The over/under points total to consider is 202 points for the game at most sports books. In terms of these teams possibly winning the NBA Finals in a few months, Cleveland is tied with the Spurs for second at 4 to 1 on the future odds in terms of all potential championship winners. The Indiana Pacers are a bit more of a longshot at 80 to 1 odds to win it all.
