The Lakers vs. Cavaliers live stream online and televised 2016 NBA basketball game brings superstar Kobe Bryant to LeBron James’ homecourt for the final time of his career. The two future Hall of Fame stars have shared the NBA’s most recent rivalry over the years, although they’ve never crossed path in the NBA Finals. This particular season will probably not yield that result either, although recent games have shown a glimpse of how good Bryant is even at his retirement age. The Cavs appear to be the team to beat in the Eastern Conference again, but can Kobe put on a show one last time? The 2016 NBA live streaming and televised matchup arrives on Wednesday via ESPN networks.
The ESPN.com website reported on Feb. 10 that tonight’s game is not only a final meeting between rivals in Kobe and LeBron, it’s also the final time that Kobe will visit Cleveland with his former teammate as the head coach. Tyronn Lue has taken over for former coach David Blatt, who was fired in the past few weeks, surprising many fans. However, since Blatt’s firing, Lue has stepped in admirably, guiding Cleveland to a 7-3 overall record. Losses have come to the Chicago Bulls and Golden State Warriors along the way, showing there still may be work needed to be done for Lue to get this team to a championship level. As for Bryant, he’ll likely be exchanging congratulations with his former Lakers teammate, as one career ends and another progresses forth.
Right now the Lakers sit at just 11-43, which looks to be well out of contention for the playoffs or NBA Championship at this point in the season. Kobe has continued to have impressive flashes even at this late stage in his career, including his 38 points dropped against Minnesota earlier in the month, and his 25 scored against the Spurs. The Timberwolves game was a win, with Kobe hitting seven three-point shots in the contest on 7-for-11 shooting from that area of the court. Meanwhile, the San Antonio game was a defeat. However, it was a game that seemed down to the wire, with Kobe a factor in the final moments. Tonight, fans will hope for maybe just one more look at a back-and-forth showdown between two of the league’s top stars over the past decade or so.
Vegas odds makers have Cleveland as 15-1/2 point favorites to win at home tonight. On the moneyline, the Cavs are huge -4000 favorites, while Los Angeles is a +2000 underdog. The future odds list currently has Cleveland listed second overall as favorites to win the NBA Finals with odds of 3 to 1, which is just below the Golden State Warriors. The Lakers are not listed due to their poor record which already looks to have them out of contention for the title this season and in the mix for another draft pick.
