The Kentucky vs. Kansas live stream online and televised 2016 NCAA basketball game headlines Saturday’s busy schedule for the nation’s Top 25 teams. This has the makings of a March Madness preview in late January, as the two teams figure to be among those competing in the NCAA men’s tournament. The Wildcats haven’t quite looked like the strong teams of past, but are surely capable of winning on any court, while Kansas is still considered amongst the best this season, despite also dropping four games. Which of these two heavyweights will emerge victorious? The 2016 NCAA live streaming and TV coverage comes via ESPN on Saturday night.
According to Seattle Times in their Jan. 29 report, this is the matchup of the day, pitting the No. 20 Wildcats against the No. 4 Jayhawks at Allen Fieldhouse in Lawrence, Kansas. Both teams have dropped four games this season and are looking for a bit win to turn it around. They’re also two of the winningest programs in Division I history with a combined 13 national championships, 31 trips to the Final Four and over 4,300 wins. The two teams met back in 2012 for the National Title with John Calipari’s Wildcats besting Bill Self’s Jayhawks. Today only one of the two programs will add another win to their total, but it makes for an intriguing basketball game. Both teams could use the win in a major way.
Kansas remains ranked No. 4 in the nation despite dropping four games. They are fifth in their conference with new teams like Oklahoma and Iowa State emerging. Perry Ellis continues to lead them in scoring with 16.6 points per game, with the team ranked No. 13 in the nation in scoring at 83.7 points per game. ESPN believes a win today would help the Jayhawks leap back over Iowa for a top line spot on his bracket projections. For Kentucky, also 16-4, they’ve won their last three games but its arguable that any of those opponents are on the level of Kansas. A road win over the No. 4 team in the nation would certainly give this team a much needed resume-building victory ahead of March.
The Jayhawks first opened as five point favorites on the spread but the number has fluctuated to a half-point higher or lower at several books. Saturday’s over/under points total is currently around 146-1/2 points for the complete game. Future odds have Kansas tied for second with Oklahoma at 7 to 1 odds to win the National Championship, while the Kentucky Wildcats are a bit lower down the list with odds of 16 to 1 to win it all.
