The Duke vs. Louisville live stream online and televised 2016 NCAA basketball game arrives on Saturday afternoon, as these two teams continue to remain in position to possibly take over the conference. Right now, both the Blue Devils and Cardinals are a game behind conference leaders North Carolina and Miami, who also play on Saturday. As for tournament aspirations, the No. 20 Blue Devils appear to be headed for another edition of March Madness, but Louisville will be on the outside looking in due to their self-imposed postseason ban. A win on the road Saturday would provide an extra boost for Duke’s confidence and tournament resume as well. Saturday’s 2016 NCAA basketball live streaming and TV coverage will be provided through ESPN networks for U.S. viewers to enjoy.
According to a Feb. 19 report via USA Today, Duke will be without the services of their guard Matt Jones for Saturday’s trip to Louisville. Jones suffered a sprained left ankle while playing in the team’s win against North Carolina this past week. An MRI confirmed he had a sprain while X-rays came back negative, indicating nothing was broken. That’s good news for a Blue Devils team that was undermanned as it was in their major road upset over rivals UNC. In that game Duke managed to make a second half comeback en route to the 74-73 win. Duke’s star player Grayson Allen had 23 points while Derryck Thornton came up with a huge block late to help seal the win. The victory was the second-straight for Duke over a Top 10 opponent from the conference, with the first coming a week ago against No. 7 Virginia.
They’ll be up against the No. 18 Louisville Cardinals on Saturday, a team that is ranked among the nation’s best but will be unable to participate in postseason tournaments. Louisville is coming into this game as winners of just one of their last three games, a 72-58 win against Syracuse on Wednesday. Prior to that, they dropped a game 71-66 at Notre Dame, and were handed a loss at Duke, 72-65. In the defeat by the Blue Devils, freshman Brandon Ingram scored 18 points while snatching 10 rebounds. Freshman guard Donovan Mitchell scored 17 points off the bench for the Cards, but Duke hit 10 of 12 free throws in the final three minutes or so of the game to fend off a possible comeback. Now Louisville gets another chance at getting that win at home against a Blue Devils team that is coming off a nice win over Carolina.
The winner of this game puts themselves in prime position to battle for the top spot in the ACC as they’ll be a game out of the lead. Odds makers have Louisville as home favorites of seven points on the point spread. Duke is 15-11-0 overall against the spread and 5-4-0 when on the road, while Louisville is 15-10-1 overall against the spread and 13-4-1 when playing at home. The over/under points total is hovering around 144 for the complete game. Duke is listed on the future odds list to win the NCAA Tournament with odds of 15 to 1 to win it all, tying them for sixth on the list with fellow ACC team, Virginia.
