A Fox Sports report from March 22 indicates that if the Golden State Warriors win tonight’s game, they’ll complete a season sweep against their Western Conference foe. Stephen Curry and company will come into tonight’s game in a bit of a shooting slump, but also having recently bounced back from the loss at San Antonio with a hard fought win over Minnesota. In that recent game, the Warriors took it 109-104 and managed to hold the Timberwolves to just 6-of-24 shooting in the fourth quarter. Klay Thompson was just 5-of-14 from the field but managed to hit all of his three-point shots he attempted. Curry has been in a serious slump, as the league’s leading scorer and reigning MVP averaged just 16.5 points over his past two games. He’ll need to bounce back with a big performance at home against a Clippers team still quite hungry to lock up the No. 4 seed in the West.
Los Angeles has also had a recent bad stretch of their own though, losing four of their past five games. That includes their last two, 113-102 to Memphis and more recently, 109-105 at New Orleans. They’ll run into a tough spot with tonight’s matchup, facing a Golden State Warriors team on pace to break the all-time best single set record by a team, the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls, and also who have won 50-straight home games as well as five-straight against the Clippers. Los Angeles will have the services of Jeff Green back as he returns to the lineup after missing a recent game with a forehead laceration. Andrew Bogut and Andre Iguodala are expected to remain sidelined for the Warriors with a left toe and an ankle injury, respectively.
As with most games this season, Golden State will be the favorites to win, with the point spread currently at 10 points in their favor. Against the spread at home this season, the Warriors are 20-11-1, while the Clippers are 15-20 on the road ATS or 5-9 as the underdogs. Golden State is a moneyline favorite of -600 while LA is at +450 as the underdogs. Tonight’s over/under points total is currently at 223 for the complete game.
