The Chargers vs. Raiders live stream online and televised 2015 NFL game brings sports fans a Christmas Eve matchup to enjoy. While neither team is currently eligible for a potential playoff berth, they’ll both be playing for pride’s sake as they close out their seasons in the next two games. Oakland enters the matchup with the better record of the two squads and a chance to move to .500 with back-to-back wins, while San Diego appears bound for an NFL Draft pick. Both teams could possibly be playing in a new venue next season.
According to ESPN.com in a Dec. 24 report, tonight’s game will be the last for Charles Woodson as he’ll try to help his Raiders sweep the season series against the Chargers. Woodson is an 18-year veteran of the team and ranks fifth all-time in interceptions. He’s also tied for first overall with defensive touchdowns as he’s got 13 of them in his career. Among his accolades have been winning the Heisman Trophy, NFL defensive rookie of the year and NFLDefensive player of the year awards. Oakland’s GM Reggie McKenzie summed things up best when saying of him, “Charles Woodson is one of those players that comes along and reminds you why you love the game.”
While it’s a historic night for that reason, it could also be the last time these two teams meet at this stadium and as residents of their current cities. Both teams have considered relocating to Los Angeles as soon as next season. St. Louis is also considering the move, with NFL owners expected to meet up Jan. 12-13 in Houston and a decision could be made then. The Chargers enter this game with a 30-14 win over Miami as they played what might have been their final home game at Qualcomm Stadium. Oakland comes in 2-5 at home
and off last week’s 30-20 loss to the Packers there. Will they bounce back with a win tonight and then another at Kansas City to go .500 on the season?
On the point spread, Oakland is a six point favorite heading into tonight’s home game. On the moneyline, they’re -235 favorites while the Chargers are +215 underdogs. Over/under bettors will have a total of 47 points to consider. Against the spread this season, Oakland is 1-3 as the favorite and 2-5 at home. The Chargers are actually 4-2 on the road against the spread and 4-4 against it as the underdogs. As mentioned, neither team can qualify for the playoffs, so this game will not impact any teams in the hunt either.
