The Honda Classic 2016 live stream online coverage and TV schedule for the PGA golf tournament begins on Thursday with viewers able to watch afternoon coverage of the opening round. This event will feature a good number of the top professional golfers in the world competing for the win at the PGA National course in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. Among them will be favorite Rory McIlroy, Phil Mickelson, Luke Donald and last year’s two-time champion at the event, Padraig Harrington. The 2016 Honda Golf Classic live streaming and televised coverage will be available via several sources on Thursday afternoon.
According to Golf Channel in their Feb. 24 report, McIlroy has won at the event before, taking the championship in 2012. He also ranks it as “one of the most memorable” times from his career as it helped him get to the No. 1 spot for the first time in his career. It also included McIlroy managing to hold off another superstar golfer named Tiger Woods with Rory saying “It was probably one of my better Sunday performances.” Tiger won’t be a participant in this year’s field, but it’s still stacked with plenty of great competitors. A win for McIlroy, who is currently ranked No. 3, could help him climb back to the No. 1 spot.
Today’s event features tee times that started as early as 6:45 a.m. Eastern Time. The first groups will be be a trio of Jonas Blixt, Nicholas Thompson and Hudson Swafford as well as a trio of Sean O’Hair, Chad Collins, Matthew Fitzpatrick. New trios will tee off every 10 minutes. Phil Mickelson, Adam Scott and Kevin Kisner started at 7:45 a.m. ET, while Rickie Fowler, Davis Love III and Sergio Garcia started at 12:35 p.m. ET. McIlroy will be in a trio including Zach Johnson and Padraig Harrington which starts at 12:45 p.m. ET.
The Vegas Insider lists McIlroy as an 11 to 2 favorite to win the Classic, with Rickie Fowler right behind at 11 to 1. Hideki Matsuyama is third with 17 to 1 odds, followed by Adam Scott, Patrick Reed and Phil Mickelson all at 18 to 1 odds. Other notable odds from the field include Luke Donald at 60 to 1, Jason Dufner at 80 to 1 and Padraig Harrington at 100 to 1. Harrington won the tournament last year, making him a two-time champion. Will 2016 be his third victory on the course or will a new golfer etch their name into the history books?
