Some mothers appreciate a quiet stroll through a lovely garden or a tour of a historical home as a gift from their loved ones on special occasions, so don’t follow the crowd by buying cards that will just be put in a box after they’ve been read on Mother’s Day; 80 percent of shoppers do that, according to a recent poll. Be different! Spring for mom a ticket to a home and garden tour–or better yet, spring for three!
The Hay House in Macon, Georgia will be holding its annual Spring Stroll May 6-8, with tickets ensuring leisurely strolls through lush private gardens in full bloom. In addition, ticket holders will also be able to tour the National Historic Landmark, an Italian Renaissance Revival mansion.
The Historic Interiors Tour will feature a house built over a waterfall, a house filled with early Virginian antiques, koi pond-bordered bridge access to one of the homes on tour, and a villa filled with some of the most coveted art and antiques anywhere. And according to the Mercer Cluster on April 28, there will also be vendors featured on the Hay House lawn showcasing patio and garden accessories as well as plants and home accents available for purchase.
The Cluster gives readers the opportunity to purchase tickets for both day and evening tours in advance for $25, or you can purchase each tour individually in advance for $15, with a $5 up-charge for tickets purchased the day of the event.
So don’t settle for giving mom a card for Mother’s Day.. Give her something she will never forget; give her a leisurely day or night in a perfumed dreamy garden. And go with her, she’ll need someone to carry her purchases to the car after she visits the vendors that populate such festivities.
