I have successfully predicted the outcome of every presidential election since the night that Bill Clinton played his saxophone on the Arsenio Hall show. Did I mention he was wearing sunglasses while he charmed average Joe. It’s a simple formula. Write it down, TV + time = president.
I didn’t major in political science. I only follow politics the way average Joe and Jane voter do, pop culture. I was almost old enough to vote, and Bubba would’ve gotten mine. He connected to me, through my TV. The very next day I was telling my highschool friends about this cool guy, Bill Clinton who was running for president. Clinton was cool, he was popular. He was no ordinary politician.
Our elections are nothing but glorified popularity contests and they always have been.
Barack Obama showed us that adding social media to the power of the almighty TV, and you get yourself a landslide victory. Two of them. He mastered using the internet to campaign with and Obama paid millions and millions of dollars to air 30 minute infomercials on the main networks right before the election. He out foxed McCain at every opportunity. He was cool. He was popular. Nobody cared what he was saying.
We may have advanced as a species over the last 100 years but we’re just as stupid as we always were. We fall for anything and often everything we see on TV.
I have to do battle with my wife when we pass by the “As seen on TV” shelf at the local Crapmart. It doesn’t matter if it works, it was on TV!!! Shiny objects!! Squirrel! The mighty TV shapes our opinions. If it didn’t, Coke wouldn’t pay billions of dollars per year advertising all over the world.
Donald Trump is coasting to the nomination from the Republican party. He followed the formula. TV + time = president. Trump practically lives in our televisions. It may take an exterminator to get rid of him. Cruz? Who’s Cruz. Cruz isn’t following the formula. No TV time means Cruz will lose. “Cruz ain’t getting no TV time because Cruz will make you snooze.” I was told by a Trump supporter. Meanwhile, back with the Democrats.
Social Media is feelin’ the Bern. But TV is too busy fawning over Secretary Clinton. She isn’t funny. Hillary can’t play the sax, is Arsenio even still alive? She can’t take chances like Trump and say incendiary things to generate media coverage. What’s a Clinton to do, perhaps borrow a page from her husband’s playbook?
Hillary has gone on late night TV and promised that if she is elected, she will investigate and release any info she finds on UFO’s if it doesn’t conflict with national security.
Yes, Bill Clinton has talked about UFO’s a lot with the media. While he was in office and after his two terms. His UFO man, John Podesta is now working with the Hillary campaign and as a surrogate, is making headlines doing talk shows repeating Hillary’s statement. She will disclose!
Remember, she’s clarified the big fat “if” in her UFO pandering. “If” it’s not jeopardizing to national security. What’s Hillary’s definition of the word “If” ?
If aliens are real and they’re visiting the earth, she’s left herself a pretty big loophole so she can get her foot out of her mouth.
To borrow from the X Files, I want to believe. But President Ford, Carter and Reagan expressed just as much interest as Bill Clinton and no definitive conclusion has ever been reached or admitted to. Quite factually, the only thing we’ve ever learned from our politicians is that the only thing being kept from the public is military research, and rightly so.
Do not fall for this TV and UFO fans. It’s a dirty trick. Other countries leaders have disclosed that there are things going on in their skies that cannot be explained. They also say these UFO’s pose no threat to their national security. I’m telling you now, our government has already kind of, sort of admitted this before. We aren’t going to get anything different from the man, or woman behind the curtain.
As for the coming election, it’s too early to call right now. I’m 100% on it falling to Trump VS Clinton. If the election was today however, Clinton would destroy him. There’s still a long way to go.
Tune in next time…
