It was just under a month ago that Henry Diltz and Morrison Hotel Galleries announced a spring tour of Diltz’s and Pattie Boyd’s show “Behind the Lens”. Diltz who is one of the best known rock photographers from the 60’s, he his famous for the Morrison Hotel album cover, as well as Crosby, Stills and Nash, and The Eagles. Boyd in her life in England being involved with George Harrison and Eric Clapton (“Layla” was written about her) also had the opportunity to take insider photographs that very few photographers had access to. Both take the stage and tell the stories behind their pictures. Here’s an updated list of dates and venues.

Doors History: March 7, 1967 It was an in-between moment for The Doors. They had attracted the attention of Jac Holzman and Elektra records, and their first album has been released but the single “Break on Through” wasn’t burning up the charts, the future of The Doors is still in doubt as to whether they will live or die as a band, they still haven’t stepped through the door to become a national act that “Light My Fire” as a single will provide. Despite this The Doors are a congruent and focused group and at the height of their musical prowess as they play the Matrix theater in San Francisco March 7-11, 1967.
