Halekulani, the luxury beachfront resort in Waikiki is celebrating the twelve days of Christmas and ringing in the 2016 New Year with special events throughout the month of December.
Beginning December 13, and running through Christmas Eve, the hotel will host themed events exclusively for guests. Activities will include a special holiday tour, Hula taught by former Miss Hawai’i Kanoe Miller, gingerbread house decorations, and poolside shave ice presentations. Kicking off the celebrations (also open to the public) on December 13 will be live entertainment from Jimmy Borges from 8:30 p.m. to midnight in the Lewers Lounge. On Christmas Eve, locals and guests alike are invited to gather for Santa’s arrival from the North Pole in an outrigger canoe at 4:30 p.m.
Halekulani’s restaurants will also join in the holiday fun with special Christmas menus on December 24th and 25th. House Without A Key is offering a three course Christmas luncheon and dinner for $55 per person. Orchids at Halekulani is offering a special Christmas brunch buffet from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for $100 per adult and $55 per child. Orchids is also offering a dinner buffet for $130 per adult and $65 per child. La Mer, the hotel’s French restaurant is offering three menus from $180 per person, with specimen dishes such as Oyster in Aquitaine Caviar and Lime emulsion, Venison Tenderloin topped with Spiced Quince Marmalade, Royal Sauce with Foie Gras, Roasted Turbot Fillet, Hawaiian Vanilla Soufflé with Candied Macadamia Nuts and Coconut. La Mer is one of the few restaurants in Honolulu with a dress code, which can be found on their website.
On December 31, New Year’s activities will also be available at most of the hotel’s outlets. House Without A Key is offering a special buffet dinner from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. for $88 per adult and $44 per child, which will of course also include the location’s famous live entertainment. The hotel will also be hosting New Year’s Eve galas in both Orchids and La Mer. Orchids will be offering a six course dinner with corn & caviar (chowder?), cured salmon, Maine lobster, beef strip loin and other options for $350 with seatings at 8:00, 8:30, and 9:00 p.m. La Mer is offering an eight course dinner with duck foie gras with black truffle vinaigrette, Hawaiian lobster, Wagyu with chestnut mousse line and Kona Coffee jus and other options for $450. Dinner seatings at La Mer are at 8:30 and 9:00 p.m. Reservations are required for all New Year’s gala dining events.
On New Year’s Day, Orchids will offer a brunch buffet for $100 per adult and $50 per child. That evening from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. House Without A Key will have a special BBQ menu, in addition to live entertainment and a celebratory cocktail menu.
