“Awake, arise, or be forever fall’n.”
“Wesen Nacht” is the December 11 fall finale of “Grimm.” Reminder: this article has spoilers, so read at your own risk. Be sure to check out the slideshow for more quotes from tonight’s episode. “Grimm” returns on January 22 on NBC.
For a while, we’ve known about this Wesen uprising, but we haven’t seen how much the rest of the Wesen community knows. Finally we saw a lot of Wesen freak out, and Bud returned to us, which is always a good thing. It turns out this uprising is a pretty big secret from a lot of Wesen.
One thing that would be great would be to see how this uprising all got started. “Grimm” always brings in history when talking about Wesen, so it would be great to get some history on this mystery uprising. When did it all start? Who founded it, and how did it gain so many followers? Share your theories on them in a comment.
For the first time in a long time, the case was actually intriguing. It honestly started out kind of predictable, but whenever the “it’s a trap” moment happen, it was actually a shock. The only question is whether or not Xavier acted scared because he needed Monroe to show up at the station. That seems like a huge risk, but it was Xavier’s fear that really sold the twist.
We finally got some answers on this mystery group aka Hadrian’s Wall (HW) that took Trubel. Basically, they are good guys who have a lot of Grimms working for them, and they paid Trubel quite well. While it was nice to get answers, we need more than Trubel’s word. The next step is definitely to see how this group operates. To use an annoying expression English teachers drill into your heads in school, show don’t tell. Let us see HW in person.
Trubel and Nick have been reunited, and everything is good again. Their scenes were brief, but they did a great job of reminding everyone as to how close they are. For Trubel, Nick is the only family she’s got. You could see how much it meant to her to be back with him again. The same goes for Nick.
This is why it’s really strange that Trubel is keeping a secret from Nick. She went to Nick’s house at the request of HW) in order to get Juliette. Now, it’s unclear if she knows exactly what became of Juliet, but this is a huge secret she’s keeping from Nick. It will be really interesting to see how the secret affects Trubel and Nick’s relationship.
As far as that shocking moment at the end, apparently things aren’t what they seem. If you don’t mind some spoilers, check out this interview over at TVLine. It definitely provides more questions than answers. Are you happy to see “Juliette” again?
One thing that was great about this hour was all the comedic moments. This could have been a doom and gloom finale, but it wasn’t. We had Bud, who always brings the laughs, a hilarious conversation where Trubel looked out for Nick by asking if Adalind loved him, and then there was Rosalee kicking some butt in her car. What do you think was the funniest moment?
