The temperatures are rising ushering in springtime which means pollen is just around the corner. What better way to fend off the green dust from hell then to spend it inside a dark room listening to some mighty fine tunes. Well this Friday night you have the chance to do just that with Great Peacock, the Quaildogs and Motel Radio playing at the EARL in the East Atlanta village.
Returning to Atlanta for the second time in just a few weeks, Great Peacock takes the stage as the main attraction this go round so expect a show packed with more great music from the Nashville band. Their songs are a collection of brilliantly written lyrics about life in the South delivered with impeccable vocal harmonies and sweet Southern melodies. When they play live listeners can feel the emotions and passion in Andrew Nelson’s and Blount Floyd’s voices as they sing “Desert Lark”, “Tennessee”, “Gulf Dreams” or “Church Bells”. The band has reached a place where they know what each other is doing on stage and this symbiotic relationship leads to quality shows that all bands strive for. Great Peacock enjoy what they do and when you see them live it is obvious.
Local favorites the Quaildogs will be joining Great Peacock for the evening’s musical festivities and you need to get there in time to catch their set. These guys put on a show that is high energy from start to finish. With a new record released a few months back – The Getting Old Factory – expect to hear a good amount of new music with a few tunes from their previous EPs sprinkled in. The Quaildogs’ songs become more dynamic when heard in person as each musical layer eases into listener’s ears. You do not want to miss the Quaildogs.
Kicking things off is Motel Radio out of New Orleans. The band’s music is a mix of jangly guitar riffs, pop infused melodies and a bit of twang which should play well to fans of Great Peacock & the Quaildogs. Show them some support and experience some good tunes.
This Friday kick the weekend off with one hell of a night of music at the EARL. Three bands will take the stage each bringing something a little different. The back room at the EARL should be packed so I suggest you get there early, grab a beverage and find a good spot to enjoy the music.
