Friday, January 23 at the PPA Event Center, 2105 N. Decatur St. in Denver, Denver Police Brotherhood (C.C. Edwards) had a fundraiser where all proceeds went to PPA (Police Protection Association) and the family of fallen Deputy Sheriff Anthony Petranilli. There were 12 entertaining bouts featuring both male and female combatants in the Senior and Masters division’s doing battle. Representatives from the DSD (Denver Sheriff’s Department), TLC Boxing, DPD (Denver Police Department), DOC (Department of Corrections), DPB (Denver Police Brotherhood) and MSP (Massachusetts State Police) came together to put on quite a show. In attendance was longtime (now retired) Brotherhood boxing coach Stephen Blea who is recovering from major stomach surgery but accepted a gracious invitation to attend the event.

Saturday, January 24, at the Colorado Golden Gloves Gym, 6161 W. 44th Ave. in Wheatridge, a fundraiser benefiting the Colorado Golden Gloves boxing program showcased Colorado amateur boxing talent with 15 exciting bouts featuring male and female competitors. Help support your amateur boxing athletes whenever possible by attending amateur boxing shows. These young men and women hope to represent our state in regional and national competition and maybe one day representing our country in Olympics boxing competition.
