The wisdom of truth and that which is right, equates to might, responsible strength or power. To use knowledge or power in any form that isn’t just or balanced will eventually lead to destruction. For over 7 years GOP’s strategic planning to legislate was a plan of no legislation at all. At the onset of President Barack Obama’s presidency Jan.21, 2009, GOP party leaders devised a plan to show no love or cooperation for the new president. This remains evident in its latest shunning of Supreme Court Justice confirmation of Merrick Garland. As of 2016 Garland falls victim to the nonsensical methods of the GOP.
According to recent polls in the month of March, it boils down to Republican led Congress under Mitch McConnell’s leadership is yet again, not doing their job. It must be a GOP thing to get paid without doing one’s job, interesting. Gallop’s poll revealed 52% of voters stated Congress should have a hearing and confirm Garland to the Supreme Court. And consequently from GOP not acting on this confirmation or much of their job during the Obama Administration, bred the vitriol outpour from a number of Americans in post Bush Recession years. It is of little surprise, the GOP would expend energy towards partnering with establishment media to delegitimize Obama. This move would deflect attention from the inept GOP and place it on the first black president.
The public was led to believe the Great Recession was a more desirable condition than the Obama administration, clearly it was not. The GOP induced Recession was a nightmare. Dollar stores were kings with checkout lines snaking through store locations. Mall and restaurant parking lots struggled to maintain even half capacity of customers. Stock market plunged below 700 points with monthly regional bank closures. Losses of millions of jobs, 5-8 million occurred during the Recession. Compare that to the Obama Administration adding 14 million jobs to the economy, its not logical to accept the idea that the current administration as being worst than the prior. While the establishment media projected mind-controlling effects on the public, GOP, focused on passing legislations like Citizens United, to give legal personage to corporations to flood campaigns with unlimited funds. Even as common sense dictates a corporation can’t enjoy rights as a human person for the fact that a corporation cannot cast one vote as one person, or the right to bear arms as one person, or the right to freedom of belief or religion as one person. And although a corporation can constitute as a party to legal contracts, so can automation or technical devices. There was ample time for Congress to apply energy, effort and professionalism to address job creation, trade, education, infrastructure, national security, environmental concerns, and income inequality, but that wasn’t the route chosen by Congress. Obscene money allowed in politics apparently carried more weight to Congress.
At any rate, there were bills passed, but they were the fewest in Congressional history. As if that wasn’t embarrassing enough, the vacuum created from their American citizen related inactivity, Congress forged the horrific nightmare of a double edged sword that destroys national intelligence and integrity. That double-edged sword is none other than, Donald Trump and Ted Cruz.
Donald Trump emphasizes loosening the bond and economic ties to NATO, a man of minimal foreign policy experience or knowledge. Yet, this same guy, questions President Obama not rushing to Brussels, the seat of NATO, at the time of the terrorists attack. Terrorist attacks any where on the globe is absolutely tragic. But, would Trump or any other politician insist President Obama race at record speed to Mumbai, Nairobi, or cities of nonwhite nations? Not a chance. Trump does deserve credit at his attempt at statesmanship, though his natural strength is showmanship as in “shooting someone in the middle of Fifth Avenue.” Trump’s strength would deteriorate from that lofty position to “He started it!” A squabble between Trump and Cruz going at each other’s wives. Or stating women should be punished for having abortions. Unbelievable.
Ted Cruz, famous for shutting down the government, is the other side of the double edged sword. Cruz holds pride in shutting down the government and being responsible for temporarily decreasing the nation’s AAA credit rating to AA.
Neither Trump or Cruz have the trustworthiness or skill to be commander and chief. And Kasich faces a highly improbable climb to front runner status to receive meaningful media coverage. John Kasich has no stand out leadership qualities other than belonging to the flailing GOP. So the callous nature and misuse of power from Congressional GOP has its consequences. Cruz and Trump have been determined the best out of a cast of 17 Republican presidential candidates by the humor of Providence or karma. America, this is what Republicans offer the nation and the world. Should America laugh or cry? America should use the power of healing.
