The management of the Orpheum Theatre and the Halloran Centre for Performing Arts & Education are always striving to bring quality entertainment to the Memphis area, and they know how important it is to introduce kids to the performing arts, so they schedule family series shows that allow the entire family to be entertained. In addition, the Halloran Centre provides programs for students, teachers, and families, by offering a wide range of classes and workshops.
“Goodnight Moon” and “The Runaway Bunny” are two examples of the family series shows. If you and your child like rabbits, then ‘Goodnight Moon’ and ‘The Runaway Bunny’ are two shows you don’t want to miss. The shows are double-billed, so you’ll see two for the price of one at the Orpheum Theatre in Memphis on April 8, 2016. Christina Torres, Senior Director of Marketing released the following information about these shows.
“On Friday, April 8, 2016 at 6:30 p.m., the Orpheum’s Family Series presents an innovative double-bill adaptation of Margaret Wise Brown and Clement Hurd’s beloved bedtime classics, Goodnight Moon and The Runaway Bunny.
After a successful run of the Very Hungry Caterpillar in 2013, Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia returns to the Orpheum with a stage adaptation of two timeless classics. Both tales feature endearing rabbit characters, and the soothing rhythms of bunny banter and dream-like imagery never fail to inspire young audience members with a reassuring sense of security and peace. Whimsical puppetry and evocative original music will bring a new sense of appreciation to these stories that have delighted for several generations. Goodnight Moon and The Runaway Bunny are recommended for ages 3 and up.”
