Flickering lights, strange noises, objects moving around your room, glimpses of floating shadows just out of your peripheral vision: these are the inspirations of many horror movies. If you love the idea that ghosts really exist, then here is your chance to hopefully experience some of them for real. You are invited by host Erik Vanlier, from Golden State Haunts, to an investigation/dinner party at the very haunted Cafe Hildago and Hotel California in Fullerton, Ca. The event will be held on February 20, 2016 from 7pm until 1am, (the after midnight hour being the time I think will be the most busy for the ghosts.) Erik who is known for Haunted History, Haunted Encounters, My Ghost Story and Ghost Adventures, is having the party to launch his new website Goldenstatehaunts.org and you are invited to join him on this exclusive investigation!
The Cafe Hildago has long been known as being haunted, even if that’s not mentioned on their main website. According to HauntedPlaces.org, “A murder victim from the 1930’s is believed to be responsible for flickering lights, strange noises, and throwing objects around. People have even seen shadows darting down the hallways.” Orange Coast magazine’s Elizabeth Defner describes it as “Tucked in a corner of the Villa del Sol building’s courtyard, this restaurant serves Spanish and Latin dishes with a side of mystery. One evening bar manager Chris Erickson says he kept seeing customers go inside the café, only to discover later that no one was there. He also says glasses regularly slide off tables of their own accord and crash to the tile floor. But that’s mild compared to some of the weirdness other Villa del Sol workers have experienced. Ask the bar staff to share a tale.” After dinner, Erik is providing an amazing experience. All of his guests will get to explore the haunted California Hotel. After hours access to the building is extremely rare. The California Hotel is 92 years old and at one time housed a brothel. Cafe Hidalgo is haunted by a spirit named Chuck as well as those of the prostitutes and people who used to stay at the hotel. There are at least four reported suicides including a construction worker who jumped from the third floor in the 1970’s.
If the investigation and dinner was not enough, there will be a lots more fun during the evening. Psychic Jennifer Phillips will be on site. Jennifer is an International Evidential Medium, Psychic and tarot card reader. She has been a practicing Reiki Master and energy healing professional for almost 20 years. You can find out more about Jennifer on her Facebook page. Special invited guests include: Ace Jordan, director of the critically acclaimed horror movie Silent Retreat, Trista Robinson an award winning actress known for Silent Retreat, The Human Race, Jurassic City and the upcoming Asmodeus, Russ McKamey who is the owner of the nation’s most controversial extreme haunt McKamey Manor which has thousands of people on their waiting list, and Adrian Marcato who is the founder of Heretic Horror House. Marcato is a California native that has worked in and around the film industry since 2004. He initially became a monster at Knott’s Scary Farm in 2005 and continued to make short films while taking film and screenwriting classes at UCLA. He also works in the F/X world and it was in 2012 that he began an experiment of combining his years of production experience and F/X that HERETIC was born. And of course, no party is complete without music so there will also be live intimate music performances from: The Black Rose Phantoms, The Rundown Kreeps and Tres Muertos.
