The Golden Globes 2016 live stream online and televised coverage will highlight Sunday’s primetime TV schedule as all the stars from the past year will be attempting to take home trophies. Television and movie achievements will be honored at The Beverly Hills Hilton, as Ricky Gervais will host. The film “Carol” leads all nominated works with five total nominations and will compete with other major films including “Spotlight,” “The Big Short,” “The Martian” and “The Revenant.” In television, shows including “Mr. Robot,” “American Horror Story,” “Narcos” and “Orange is the New Black” will be vying for trophies as well. The 2016 Golden Globe Awards live streaming and TV presentation arrives through E! Online and NBC networks on Sunday evening.
A Jan. 8 report via E! Online indicates that they will have live online coverage straight from the Beverly Hills red carpet tonight ahead of the big awards event. Will Marfuggi and Carissa Loethen will serve as hosts as all the big stars arrive for photo opportunities and interviews on the carpet. Among the celebrities who may be seen as they arrive are Best Actor frontrunner Leo DiCaprio, actresses Kate Winslet and Jennifer Lawrence. The show starts just before 6 p.m. Eastern Time and spans two hours of live coverage on the internet. Unfortunately for viewers, it seems that the actual awards show will be a different story, as recent reports have indicated NBC will not be streaming the official show, making it only a televised affair.
So who are tonight’s favorites from the 73rd annual Golden Globe nominees? Look for “Spotlight” or “Carol” to take home the prize for Best Movie Drama and either “The Martian” or “The Big Short” to win for Best Movie Comedy. Leo Dicaprio is considered a heavy favorite to win Best Actor while Brie Larson leads nominees in the actress category. Nominees from the Musical or Comedy actors and actresses include Matt Damon for “The Martian,” Jennifer Lawrence for “Joy,” Christian Bale for “The Big Short” and Amy Schumer for “Trainwreck.” Other awards will be handed out to supporting actors and actresses from various films, with Sylvester Stallone a favorite for his role as Rocky Balboa in “Creed.”
Television will also receive its fair share of awards. Shows that were most heavily-nominated are “American Crime,” “Fargo,” “Mr. Robot,” “Orange is the New Black,” “Outlander,” “Transparent” and “Wolf Hall,” as each of them had three nominations. Jon Hamm for “Mad Men,” Taraji P. Henson for “Empire,” Jeffrey Tambor for “Transparent” and Gina Rodriguez for “Jane the Virgin,” lead actors and actresses for various TV shows. Presenters tonight include Tom Hanks, Matt Damon, Jim Carrey, Amy Adams, Mel Gibson, Jamie Fox, Terrence Howard, Jonah Hill, Sophia bush and Kate Bosworth, among others.

NBC has reported that there will not be any Golden Globe Awards live streaming online. E! Online will have live streaming of their red carpet special beginning at 5:55 p.m. ET and leading up until the 8 p.m. start of the main show.
