Presented by the Broadcast Film Critics Association (or BFCA) the Critics Choice Awards honor and celebrate those in both film and television. It also recognizes talented people and this year actress Courtney Eaton was one of those individuals. Eaton attended the Critics Choice Awards this year for her work in Mad Max: Fury Road. Her look for the 21st annual Critics Choice Awards was inspired by her Valentino dress.
“I loved the leather and gold combination of Courtney’s stunning dress and wanted to replicate that in the makeup, while still keeping it soft and radiant. We decided on a golden bronze eye with a slight cat eye flick combined with flawless, glowing skin” Gita Bass said on the look. So, is it possible to re-create this look at home? Absolutely.
To begin this look, it is very important to prepare the skin. As it is important with any big red carpet event. Bass cleansed Eaton’s skin with the Simple Skincare Micellar Cleansing Water. As she continued, she then applied the Simple Skincare Protecting Light Moisturizer with SPF 15 directly to Eaton’s face. Bass continued by applying the applied CHANEL Soleil Tan de CHANEL Sheer Illuminating Fluid mixed with another drop of the Simple Skincare Protecting Light Moisturizer with SPF 15. This works amazingly to create a very luminous yet dewy and fresh face.
For the makeup portion, Bass applied the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation. This foundation works to even out the skin. Bass, then applied the Clé de Peau Beauté Concealer where additional coverage was needed. Using a damp BeautyBlender sponge, Bass applied the Stila Convertible Color in Poppy directly on the apples of the cheeks. As she continued with the actress’s face, she applied the Anastasia Beverly Hills Illuminator in Old Hollywood to both the cheek and brow bone, as this creates the ultimate highlight.
As the celebrity makeup artist and skin care expert continued with this look, she applied the Tom Ford Eyeshadow in Naked Bronze on the upper lid. Using a soft brush, she blended it out. Gold is a very stunning shade that works all year round. Taking the Dior 5-Colour Eyeshadow in Cuir Cannage, Bass applied the gold shades on the lid and on the lower lash line of Eaton’s eyes. Bass, then, added a pop of gold glitter from the top section of the Tom Ford Cream and Powder Eye Color just to the center of the lid.
The eyes were a main focus on this particular. Bass continued by applying the Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colour in Copper just outside the tear ducts and halfway along the inner lower lash line. This was meant as a golden highlight. As Bass continued, she applied the Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner in Black Ink. This product really elongates and emphasizes the eyes. Bass lined the upper lash line and winged it out slightly. Using the Surratt Relevée Lash Curler, she curled the actress’s lashes before applying several coats of the CHANEL Inimitable Mascara in Black.
So what about the lips? Bass applied the Laura Mercier Stick Gloss in plum and then gave it to Eaton to put in her purse for any additional touch ups throughout the night.
Congratulations! You have just re-created the look for actress Courtney Eaton at the 21st annual Critics Choice Awards.
