The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences honor the best of the best in cinema. As the awards are taking place this evening, February 28th 2016, they allow individuals who are recognized for their achievements and those supporting them to present themselves in an array of ways. In fact, it is no surprise that model and mother-to-be Chrissy Teigen made a statement at the red carpet tonight, as she appeared at the awards looking fabulously chic in Marchesa, as her skin and makeup looked amazingly flawless. Compliments of her makeup artist Mary Phillips, Teigen was treated with an amazing skin care routine followed by makeup.
“When doing Chrissy’s makeup, I took into consideration the gorgeous Marchesa burgundy floral gown with the sheer and golden portions that were woven through. It was very romantic and ethereal, but overall – completely stunning.” Phillips said about the look.
Phillips continued “She’s very genuine as well in herself – what you see is what you get. That’s one of the things (of many) that I love about her, so what I want to do with her makeup is just go off of that. That’s what I tried to convey with this look: just sexy, real, confident and making a large emphasis on keeping the skin as dewy and glowy as possible – even though she already has that naturally.”
So, is it possible to re-create this look? Absolutely.
First and foremost, you are going to want to prep the skin. The celebrity makeup artist prepped Teigen’s skin with the Simple Skincare Micellar Cleansing Water. This amazing beautiful essential works to provide your skin with an instantly cleansed and refreshed feeling. Phillips them applied the Simple Skincare Replenishing Rich Moisturizer to Teigen’s face which works as a great base for makeup and to lock in moisture.
To finish the skin care portion of the stunning mother-to-be, Phillips applied the Simple Skincare Protecting Light Moisturizer with SPF 15 as an eye cream. This works to create a very light yet luminous sheen. Phillips gently patted this product on the orbital bone of Teigen’s eye. It is very key to be very careful when applying anything to the eye area.
So, what about the makeup portion of the look? Phillips started with the foundation portion of the look by layering the LORAC Sheer POREfection Foundation with a blush brush and a BeautyBlender. Mattifying the skin, Phillips used the LORAC POREfection Baked Perfecting Powder. Phillips, then applied the Lancôme Effacernes Waterproof Protective Undereye Concealer under the eye, down to the cheek area, on the outside of the bridge of the nose, outside the mouth, and along the cupids bow.
As Phillips continued with the strikingly stunning Chrissy Teigen’s makeup look, she applied the Kevyn Aucoin The Sculpting Powder. She applied this very sheer and barely there for contour. For additional radiance, Phillips used the LORAC Light Source (will launch in March) on the forehead, bridge of the nose as well as, the apples of the cheeks and chin. Taking the LORAC Color Source Buildable Blush in Tinge, Phillips applied this to the apples of Teigen’s cheeks and to the upper crest of her forehead near the hairline.
Taking the LORAC Unzipped Palette, Phillips used the lighter shades from the palette. She used this for highlighting and for a relatively lifting effect followed by the darker shades for depth and pop. Phillips continued by applying the LORAC Front Of The Line PRO Liquid Eyeliner in Black followed by the LORAC Front Of The Line PRO Eyepencil in Bronze. This was used to apply a thicker, bolder lash without the heaviness of a liquid line sitting on top.
As the celebrity makeup artist continued, she used the Lancôme le Curler on the model and mother-to-be’s lashes before applying the LORAC PRO Mascara. She used the LORAC PRO Brow Pencil for added contour to the brow.
To finish the look, Phillips applied the LORAC PRO Matte Lip Color in Nude and in Rose Brown. Using a lip brush, she, then applied the LORAC Alter Ego Gloss in Socialite all over.
Congratulations! You have just re-created model Chrissy Teigen’s look for the 88th Academy Awards.
