Chrissy Teigen stunned the red carpet tonight in an elegantly embellished Marchesa gown with her hair pulled back into an intricate braided style created by the one and only Christian Wood using TRESemmé products along with Conair tools. Wood created the undone yet graceful hair look to complement the glamorous aura of the dress. Wood wanted to keep the stunning mother-to-be’s overall look fresh and beautiful.
So, is it possible to re-create this amazing hair look at home? Yes.
First and foremost, you are going to want to begin this particular look by prepping the hair. Wood used the TRESemmé Beauty-Full Volume reverse wash system. Wood applied the TRESemmé Beauty-Full Volume Pre-Wash Conditioner, followed by the TRESemmé Beauty-Full Volume Shampoo to get a great base.
As Wood continued, he applied the TRESemmé Beauty-Full Volume Mousse followed by the TRESemmé Beauty-Full Volume Hair Maximizer. Wood applied the Mousse all through the hair, but did not apply it through the ends. He, then applied the Maximizer directly to Teigen’s ends. Taking a round brush, Wood did a full blowout using the Conair Infiniti Pro 3Q Hair Dryer. This hair dryer uses 70% more air pressure, allowing for much faster drying time.
Taking the hair at the crown, Wood started to pin that hair away. Then, taking two one-inch sections on both sides of the ears, Wood began to braid all the way down, while using the fingertips to rub the hair as well as, create texture. Then, Wood released the hair at the crown and begin to braid down the middle. He, then combined the 5 braids in one hand and secured them with an elastic. Then, Wood took a handful of bobby pins and secured braids into place. Then, take the lengths of the hair and create a larger braid. Wood, proceeded to secure the larger braid with an elastic, leaving out the ends at the bottom.
As Wood continued, he pulled out loose pieces towards the crown before rubbing the braids with his fingertips. To complete the hair look, the celebrity stylist sprayed the TRESemmé Beauty-Full Volume Hairspray.
Congratulations! You have just re-created Chrissy Teigen’s hair look at the 88th Academy Awards.
