Like a true California dreamer, Brie Larson’s dream came true last night. Not only did she win best actress for her role as Joy “Ma” Newsome in Room, but the actress stole the spotlight tonight in a beautiful blue embellished gown courtesy of Gucci. As Larson’s makeup looked fantastic, her hair really made a statement as it embodied a celestially modern style. For her hair, the Academy Award winning actress teamed up with the L’Oréal Paris Celebrity Stylist Mara Roszak for the look.
“Brie wore a gorgeous, royal blue, custom Gucci dress. I wanted her hair to have a celestial but fresh look to complement the dress. We did a modern half-up, half-down style.” Mara Roszak said about the hair look for the award-winning actress.
So, is it possible to re-create this amazing hair look? Absolutely.
First and foremost, Roszak started the entire look by applying the L’Oréal Paris Advanced Haircare Extraordinary Oil Transforming Oil-in-Cream to Larson’s damp hair. As she continued, she parted the hair in the center. Then, taking a round brush, Roszak did a full blowout on Larson’s hair. Once Larson’s hair was dry, Roszak used the ghd platinum styler. Not only does this styler work to straighten the hair, it works to diminish frizz, tame flyaways and promote shine.
As Roszak continued on the award-winning actress’s hair, she sprayed the L’Oréal Paris Elnett Hairspray all over Larson’s hair. Then, taking the ghd curve Classic Curl Iron 1”, the celebrity stylist produced and created soft, loose waves all throughout the hair. Once Roszak was done ‘waving’ Larson’s hair, she took a boar bristle brush and began to brush the hair. Once completed, Roszak applied the L’Oréal Paris Advanced Haircare Extraordinary Oil Lustrous Oil Serum on the middle of the hair. She also applied this product to ends of hair for added shine.
Taking the front pieces of hair by the hair line on both sides, Roszak twisted them shortly before bringing them to the back of hair. Roszak pinned them into place. She, then put a piece of fabric that matched Larson’s belt on top of the pins. Any extra hair, Roszak took and wrapped around the hair piece.
To finish the look, she sprayed the L’Oréal Paris Elnett Hairspray all over the hair followed the L’Oréal Paris Advanced Haircare Nutri-Gloss High Shine Glossing Mist. Not only did this add hold, but shine too.
Congratulations! You have just re-created Brie Larson’s hair look for the 88th Academy Awards.
