George Miller could entering the mad world of the DC Cinematic Universe, as Heroic Hollywood is reporting that the “Mad Max” director may sign on for “Green Lantern Corps”. The film will focus on the intergalactic force of guardians dedicated to protecting the galaxies as the brightest light for right and might against the forces of evil. No word yet on which characters will appear, though it has been rumored that Hal Jordan, John Stewart, and Kyle Rayner are the top contenders.
Miller was once rumored to direct the sequel to 2013’s “Man of Steel” with Henry Cavill as the titular Superman: the Son of Krypton who is part of the dawn of the Justice League in “Batman v. Superman” with Ben Affleck as the Bat of Gotham and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman.
Green Lantern is one of the founding members of the League alongside the Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman trinity, Aquaman, the Flash, and Cyborg. Ryan Reynolds – aka Marvel’s “Deadpool” – preceded the role of test pilot Hal Jordan/Green Lantern in a poorly received 2011 summer film.
“Green Lantern Corps” is set for June 19, 2020.
