And again, one of Hollywood’s most handsome actors has more than just outstanding talent, a great sense of humor and a love for the underdog; his family announced the newest member to their family – Nate the terrier has been adopted. The family decided to wait a month before making the happy announcement, and a little terrier’s plight has a deservedly happy ending just like a fairy tale.
On the Facebook page of the Fairfield, Ohio dog rescue, LuvforMutts Animal Rescue, the story of Nate began when he and 10 other dogs arrived at the rescue from a hoarding case. “He was born with birth defects. A barrel chest, a leg that swayed. He walked like a Hyena. Some of these dogs were fat, but not our Nate. You could count the ribs on him. When we took Nate to adoption events, people would stare and kids would point. Several people applied to adopt him, but then said no when they met him,” described the rescue organization. And for nine long months, although Nate captured some attention, but often times called him ugly, the little guy was reassured someday he would find a perfect home.
Fast forward ahead to the private evenings before Christmas when George Clooney and his wife Amal had been watching the videos of Nate and little did Nate know, his wish for a home was shortly to be realized. Clooney’s personal assistant, Angel called the rescue to arrange the adoption, providing George’s mother, Nina, approved. “She watched his video over and over and she fell in love. He then asked his father Nick how he felt about the way Nate walks, and he replied ‘I guess it sounds like he gets around just as good as we do anymore.’ Their terrier of ten years had died recently, and it seemed that George had a feeling they were ready for a new furry friend.” And so it came, as Santa Claus delivers toys every year to the good boys and girls, kind George Clooney had LuvforMutts deliver Nate to his parents on Christmas Eve.
“We are just over the moon and most appreciative that they love Nate just the way his is… Our Nate is loved and in his forever home and will be spoiled to death for the rest of his life. From fighting to get food in his belly each day to being the only fur baby of two of the most wonderful people in Augusta, Kentucky, it’s truly a fairy tale ending for Prince Nate… or should we say… a perfect Hollywood movie ending,” was jubilantly posted on the rescue’s site.
