Do you super believe in “Galavant”? Want ABC to renew your favorite musical comedy extravaganza for a third season? Then join the #MoreGalavant campaign! Fans are rallying together to show ABC Network executives how much this show is so dearly loved.
We’ve been tweeting our little hearts out, but it takes more than that to get ABC’s full attention. Letter writing campaigns along with tokens of affection (nuts, bananas, light bulbs) have worked wonders in the past to save shows like “Jericho,” “Arrested Development” and “Friday Night Lights”. Now, Galavanters are hoping to win ABC over with a little creativity and a lot of heart. Here’s what we need to do:
Write a brief letter thanking ABC for airing two marvelous seasons of “Galavant” and tell them you’d love to watch more brilliant episodes on their network. E-mails are great, but old-fashioned letters make more of an impact, so break out ye ole quill and scroll.
To add a little extra punch to our campaign, we are sending them a physical representation of our love for the show. If your artistic, send a drawing of Tad Cooper, or get little dragon toys/stuffed animals to include with your passionate plea. We want to present a uniformed front, so sticking with Tad Cooper seems to be our schtick. Remember, we want to keep our message positive. Don’t threaten to boycott the network. Instead, show them your appreciation for “Galavant”. Also, keep it short and sweet. We can gush about “Galavant” for days, but ABC powers that be don’t have that kind of time. Simply stay on point: “We want more “Galavant” because …” Once your letter is ready to go, share it on social media and encourage others to join the campaign. Post a photo of your letter being dropped in the mail, show-off your artwork and/or what kind of fun stuff you’re sending to ABC. Tag @GalavantABC @ABCNetwork @BenSherwood and use the hashtag #MoreGalavant.

Let’s face it, diehard fans are going to do all of the above. Anything to save our beloved “Galavant”, right?! Someone can start a video chain made up of vines in which fans declare their desire for #MoreGalavant. Keep chanting our mantra: “We super believe in #MoreGalavant!”.
ABC is not our only hope, thanks to streaming services like Hulu and Netflix, shows have a higher chance of survival. Advertises play a key role in supporting a show. If you DVR-ed “Galavant,” check out some of the products advertised during the show and send those companies letters too. Tell them how the show lead you to using their product because you saw one of their commercials while watching “Galavant.” Hey, it’s worth a shot, right?!
As they say, “Time is of the essence.” Shows are usually renewed in time for network upfronts in mid-May, so we need to send those letters ASAP. Getting cracking, Galalvanters. If Tad Cooper can grow into a real fire-breathing dragon, then we can surely persuade ABC to give us #MoreGalavant!
