Now check out First School for free printable animal paper bag puppets and stick puppets. Teachers like puppets for several reasons. They’re easy to use and no-fail. Children with disabilities can use them. Paper toys use recycled materials on hand. Print in black and white (grayscale). Have children color the pieces and then cut them out (if they color outside the lines, the oopsies get cut away). Then assemble. Puppets coordinate with other free printable toys and games and literature lessons from First School. Have children act out stories while they listen. Active learning helps children understand and retain concepts better.
Next scoot over to Billy Bear 4 Kids for free printable finger puppets and paper puppet patterns. Patterns could be cut from fabric and sewn (to make them more durable and teach kids basic sewing skills). Or templates could be assembled from paper. There are animals and people puppets. Billy Bear has free printable personalized children’s books to design. Children fill in details about themselves, so that they’re the stars of the story. They should design paper bag puppets to resemble themselves as characters. Or use props and clothing to make puppets kings and queens or different occupations.
