The 2015 Foster Farms Bowl college football game is taking place this Saturday, December 26, 2015, at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. Game time is 9:15 pm EDT and the game is on TV on ESPN with announcers Jason Benetti and Rod Gilmore along with sideline reporter Shelley Smith.
On paper, UCLA would appear to be a much better team than Nebraska in this bowl game. The Bruins are 8-4 this season while Nebraska actually has a losing record of 5-7. But if you look beneath the surface of those two records this game is much more evenly matched than the records indicate. This should also be a fun high scoring game as both teams average 32.5 points per game on offense.

- UCLA Bruins -6.5 at Nebraska Cornhuskers (O/U is 61)
The UCLA Bruins out of the Pac-12 come into the Foster Farms Bowl with a 8-4 record and they are favored by 6.5 points to beat the Nebraska Cornhuskers out of the Big Ten. UCLA has wins this season over Virginia, UNLV, BYU, Arizona, Cal, Colorado, Oregon State and Utah. UCLA has losses this season to Arizona State, Stanford, Washington State and USC. The teams UCLA beat in 2015 are a combined 46-54 while the teams that UCLA lost to are a combined 33-17.
Nebraska comes into the Foster Farms Bowl with a record of 5-7. The Cornhuskers have wins over South Alabama, Southern Miss, Minnesota, Michigan State, and Rutgers. Nebraska has losses to BYU, Miami, Illinois, Wisconsin, Northwestern, Purdue, and Iowa. The teams Nebraska beat are a combined 35-27 this season while the teams that beat Nebraska are a combined 55-31.
While UCLA has the better record and is favored in the 2015 Foster Farms Bowl, based upon the combined records of the opponents these two teams played this season, Nebraska played a much tougher schedule in 2015. UCLA’s opponents have a combined record of 79-71 (.527) while Nebraska’s opponents are a combined 90-58 (.608).
So even though Nebraska enters this college football bowl game with a losing record it would be foolish to consider the Cornhuskers not capable of winning the game. Nebraska played a much tougher schedule than UCLA did and Nebraska also beat Michigan State this season and the Spartans are in the 2015 college football playoff.
