The annual gathering of the golf industry in Orlando, Fla. is the unofficial start of the 2016 golf season, and what what a season it should be, for those that love hitting the little white ball. It will take more than a little winter weather on the east coast to keep the golf world away from Orlando the last week in January.
The 63rd annual PGA Merchandise Show will once again run January 26-29, 2016, in Orlando, and bring more than 40,000 golf industry professionals from around the world to central Florida. While networking on many levels takes place 12 months a year on the golf course, this show is about networking off the golf course. This is where golf manufacturers meet golf retailer and industry leaders talk to the media. It all happens under one big roof at the Orange County Convention Center. In 2016, golfers everywhere will honor and celebrate the Centennial of the PGA of America. The PGA of America is the founder and organizing partner of the “trade only”, PGA Merchandise Show.
“The PGA Merchandise Show floor represents the very best names in golf, from market leaders and established golf manufacturers to service and accessory providers and the newest start-up companies. These influential companies and brands create an unmatched resource to build business in 2016,” said PGA Worldwide Golf Exhibitions Senior Vice President and General Manager Ed Several.
To start it all off, attendee will be able to get “hands on” with all of the new golf equipment and products at the 14th PGA Show Outdoor Demo Day, on Tuesday, January 26, 2016, held at the 42-acre practice facility of the Orange County National Golf Center and Lodge in the Greater Orlando area. Attendance by PGA Professionals, the golf media and more than 100 top golf companies always create the world’s largest golf demo event. It’s a lot of fun, but it’s also work for those looking at the latest golf products and getting a chance to learn from top golf teachers like Michael Breed, Mike Malaska and David Leadbetter.
After all the fun, outdoors at Demo Day, it’s time to get down to more business and move indoors. New this year is an increased focus on golf as a lifestyle sport and brand. Golf spans generations and tastes, and the sport has created a culture of it’s own and much of that will be on display in Orlando.
“The combination of market leaders, established designers and fresh faces to the golf fashion landscape at the PGA Merchandise Show creates an expansive presentation of the latest apparel and accessory lines for attending PGA Professionals and golf retailers,” adds Several. “Additionally, PGA Show Week is full of retail learning opportunities in classrooms, in the new Textile Sourcing Pavilion, at the PGA Forum stage and throughout exhibits on the Show Floor.”
During the show, attendees shouldn’t miss the New Product Zone and Travel Pavillion. The last few years, the FIT to W.I.N. area has showcased the latest in health and fitness for golfers. Brand new to the show floor for 2016 is the Technology Pavillion and the Textile Sourcing Pavillion where anyone interested in textile sourcing and development can ask questions and get answers as it relates to the golf industry.
If you are in the golf industry, chances are you will be in Orlando for the annual PGA Show. After a few lean years in the 2000s, 2016 promises to be a big year for golf. The professional tours are already underway, but with warmer weather on the horizon, and the snow surely to melt, this annual show gets the rest of the golf community in the mood for golf.
