900 days and counting…that is how long a young dog named “Mason,” has been waiting at the Hempstead Animal Shelter in Wantagh, New York. Mason arrived to the shelter facility over two years ago after a good Samaritan found him digging through garbage alongside a road.
Sadly, the shelter has become this young dog’s home – though he is described as energetic, playful and fun-loving, nobody has chosen Mason to be their own. According to the people who know Mason, he adores the water – whether it is a pool, a puddle, a lake or even a bath, this handsome boy just loves to be in the water!
Mason has his own Facebook page (click here) with over 1100 followers, but still, he waits. In January, an informative post was made to Mason’s page:
Mason has endured what would break many, almost 2 1/2 years behind bars. Mason is 3 1/2 years old now, has professional training off-site from the shelter where he was able to relax and shine. He’s loving with all but he’s very high energy so he needs an active owner experienced with strong active dogs. Mason loves toys, playing tug and kissing his favorite people.
Please help Mason leave this facility by taking a moment to share his adoption information. Mason’s Facebook page here.

Note: At this time, it is believed that Mason would do best as the only dog in the home.
