Get ready for a day full of fun and festivity with the Spring Farm Festival taking place at Flinchbaugh’s Orchard & Farm Market. This premier event, intended to become an annual springtime tradition, will take place today, April 30 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Though the event is geared mostly toward families with children between the ages of 2 to 12, all are invited to attend this springtime bash laden with an assortment of various activities taking place onsite at Flinchbaugh’s. At the Kids Creation Station, children of all ages will share in activities and experiences that are both entertaining and educational. There’s something for everyone to learn about in the way of seeds, honeybees, plants, gardening tips (presented to children in an easy-to-understand format), and even insects (the different kinds and even how bugs benefit soil and gardening efforts). Raised beds will be open and available for members of the Kids Cut Club to plant in during the festival. Members are also free to cut their own flower bunches throughout the 2016 season.
In addition to creating garden works, kids will also have the opportunity to roll out their own seed balls to take with them for planting purposes at home. Plus, there will be crafting—Paint a Pail for Mom activity in lieu of Mother’s Day next weekend.
There will be plenty of other activity features throughout the day as well. Included in the events will be orchard walks every hour, trike bike riding, playing in the straw bale maze, visiting with farm animals, and going on wagon rides, to name just some.
Flinchbaugh’s will also have food concessions available for hungry visitors. Also, be sure to enjoy samplings by Blind Spot Nutbutters, which are currently featured this season. As always, you can also find fresh produce, baked goods, and other delicious products within the onsite market. Click here to read about the market’s many offerings.
Spring Festival events cost $5 a child. This price includes using the Creation Station, Kids Cut Club Membership for 2016, the animal exhibit, trikes, and the mini maze. Additional fees apply to wagon rides ($2 a rider), food concessions, and the Paint a Pail for Mom craft (both $8). To learn more about this first annual Spring Farm Festival, click here.
