New York’s Hudson Valley is full of events that celebrate what makes this region a go-to destination for locals and tourists alike. These five festivals showcase local music, beer, wine, food, and small businesses. Pleasantville Music Festival
For the past eleven years, the Pleasantville Music Festival has been bringing national acts as well as local artists to Westchester. Sponsored by 107.1 The Peak, Westchester’s premier independent radio station, the festival focuses on celebrating the local community through great music. This year’s festival is presented by Westchester Medical Center and will include headliners such as KT Tunstall, The Revivalists, The Smithereens, Aztec Two-Step, Drew Bordeaux, and more. Captain Lawrence will provide a beer and wine garden for adults, and there will be activities for kids as well as food and vendors. The Big Brew New York Beer Festival
Spend a day sampling innovative craft beer at the Big Brew New York Beer Festival on July 30 at the Lyndhurst Mansion in Tarrytown from 1-5. Featuring over 150 craft beers, food, and music, this event is a must for local beer lovers. Food will be provided by Handsome Devil Barbeque of Newburgh, Kath’s Catering, and Ma and Pa’s Tex-Mex. General Admission is $60 before July 17, and the ticket includes a souvenir tasting glass. Designated Driver tickets are $10 before July 17 and include access to the festival, food, and music (no alcohol). Prices increase by $5 on July 17. Westchester Magazine’s Wine and Food Festival
This 5-day event features tastings and workshops at locations in White Plains, Valhalla, and Yonkers, as well as over 100 restaurants and 200 wines, and celebrates what makes the Westchester culinary scene so unique. The festival kicks off on June 8 at Bloomindale’s in White Plains with food and wine pairings by by Kevin Zraly and Rafael Palomino. June 9 is the Burger and Beer Blast at the Kensico Dam Plaza in Valhalla. Friday, June 10, is an Evening with Westchester Tastemakers as the Ritz-Carlton in White Plains, which celebrates 20 Westchester County chefs. Saturday, June 11, is the Grand Tasting Village at Kensico Dam Plaza, featuring tastings from over 50 local restaurants and over 200 wines and spirits, as well as a Junior Chef’s Academy at Ritz-Carlton in White Plains, a hands-on class where kids can learn culinary skills. The festival concludes on June 12, with a workshop at the Cross County Shopping Center in Yonkers where kids will learn how to make noodle dishes from experts at Noodle & Co. Beer, Bourbon, and Bacon!
The Beer, Bourbon, and Bacon festival celebrates three of the most enjoyable things that can be experienced in the physical world. Taking place on June 18 at the Dutchess Country Fairgrounds in Rhinebeck, NY from 1-6, this event features dozens of breweries, distilleries, great food, vendors, and music. Hudson Valley Food and Wine Fest
This event celebrates everything that New York has to offer in terms of local beer, wine, and gourmet food.
