College students know that most of their education will be found in the classroom. But there is also a case for obtaining some real life career experience along the way. Internships help students sort out what type of work they want to pursue and determine if it the best match for them. For those students in the Dallas area, Southwest Airlines is well known as a friendly airline company. They also have an excellent program for high school and college internships including a 11-week MBA internship program that was launched in 2014. According to the company website, “In 2014, we had 293 Interns on board with us from 103 different universities and 36 different states. These Interns were selected from over 14,000 resumes, so it’s definitely a competitive program!”
When applying for the Southwest internships, check the schedule for the application and approval period ahead of the semester you are considering. As one of the benefits of the program, College and MBA interns are eligible for the free space-available travel on the domestic travel route offered by Southwest Airlines.
San Antonio students have many companies to consider. Have you ever thought about working for the San Antonio Spurs? As an intern you would learn sports marketing first- hand by working on group sales and event planning.
