From the moment the hearing began today, Feb.23, it was clear that federal judge Emmet Sullivan’s patience had reached its limit and that he intended to lower the boom and deliver a smack down on Hillary Clinton, the State Dept., and other top personnel such as Clinton aide Huma Abedin. Sullivan granted the requests of the plaintiffs, Judicial Watch, on ordering the release of documents Judicial Watch had requested in a Freedom of Information Act motion. Hillary and the State Dept. dragged their feet for six years, refusing to turn over the requested documents.
Sullivan had indicated in several previous hearings that he was growing highly agitated by the incessant foot dragging on the part of Hillary and the State Dept. when they were under court order to turn over documents. It was clear today that Sullivan’s agitation had turned to concrete action, upping the ante to the next level. Sullivan’s ruling paved the way for the FBI to question Hillary Clinton and Huma Abedin under oath. At issue is classified top secret documents found on Hillary’s private email server and the role Abedin played in the scandal, if any.
This means that Hillary and her top aides are no longer merely under oath before Congress but that she and Abedin in particular will forced to answer questions under oath as posed by the FBI if necessary. Sullivan’s move is a major development in the email scandal case. Hillary is already being investigated by the FBI for possible criminal activity. The fact that she is now under federal court order to be questioned further under oath, even by the FBI if they decide to do so, is an ominous sign. It shows that the FBI has significant information from its own investigation and that now it is ready to move forward with the information they have amassed, including Judge Sullivan’s complaint that Hillary and the State Dept. have persistently ignored direct court orders.
The ruling issued by Sullivan today shows that the Clinton email scandal has been bumped up several notches to a brand new level. This amounts to a major development in the investigation into the scandal. Judicial Watch finally got what it wanted, and Judge Sullivan is now frustrated enough to put a stop to the foot dragging and, if necessary, turn the entire thing over to the FBI. That move alone may indicate possible criminal conduct on the part of Hillary and her top aides at the State Dept. while she served as Secretary of State for President Barack Obama.
