“American Horror Story” star Evan Peters described himself as a “hot mess” to host Jimmy Kimmel during his April 26 appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live.” Many adoring female fans in the audience would probably agree. Peters was responding to Kimmel who asked if his clock was off after returning from South Africa the day before. Wow, that’s a long way to travel for a talk show spot. Maybe Matt Damon could take a lesson from Peters from the couch in the green room. The YouTube video of Peters’ spot has garnered over 140,000 views since it’s April 27 post date.
Evan Peters has been very busy after playing his grittiest role yet as sociopathic killer James Patrick March to critical acclaim on “American Horror Story: Hotel.” Kimmel made no mention of the riveting portrayal, though, in which his character was married, at one point, to Lady Gaga’s character and buried his victims alive in the walls of his glamorous hotel. Instead, they focused on Peters’ recent film projects which include starring in “Elvis & Nixon,” the upcoming new “X Men” installment and his current project “Where the White Man Runs Away” which also stars Al Pacino.
Kimmel couldn’t resist asking Peters if he found working with Pacino intimidating. Peters replied, “Yeah!” but then assured Kimmel he got over any jitters pretty quickly. He said, “He’s a sweetheart. He’s 75. He’s really old. He’s still got it. He’s got the chops but he’s old man.” Kimmel laughed and said, “Ideally it happens. In the best case scenario it happens.” Kimmel couldn’t have saved that moment more sweetly. Oddly, Peters is billed over Pacino in the lead role of the film as journalist Jay Bahadur who embeds himself among pirates in Somalia for a story.
Elvis & Nixon tells the bizarre untold story of Elvis Presley’s wish to meet President Nixon. Peters plays real-life Deputy Assistant to President Nixon Dwight Chapin. Peters dubbed the project “hilarious” and also thoroughly enjoyed his reprisal as Quicksilver in the newest “X Men” installment. There is no official word yet if Peters will return to “American Horror Story” for season six. Angela Bassett is confirmed to return, series co-creator Ryan Murphy has hinted at a creepy children plot but any other season six details are sketchy.
AHS fans are wondering if the bearded photo Evan Peters posted of himself recently on Instagram has anything to do with an upcoming “American Horror Story” character. It would seem more probable the beard would be related to his role opposite Pacino. But, who knows? Beard or not, Peters is unequivocally the right kind of hot mess and chronologically speaking, he’s like five decades younger than Al Pacino.
By the way, Pacino is a classic film hunk at any age and we would never claim to be comparing, counting or categorizing these co-stars. We’re also pretty sure Peters wasn’t throwing any shade at Pacino. There’s plenty of room in Hollywood for hunks of all ages. Just sayin’.
