He came in. He blew up & he’ll blow out of JAX after Valentine’s Day. To honor Elvis Presley, Kevin Mills has been packing-the-house, at the Alhambra Theater & Dining, with some good ole honkey-tonk rhythm and blues music. Once again, Kevin has brought his high-profile tribute of Elvis to the stage with the accompaniment of the Double Trouble Show Band. After the second night, Kevin came to the stage to perform with such flair and body quaking energy that you might wonder where he gets all his agility. Don’t forget to take a look at the slideshow and see the king of rock & roll, portrayed by Kevin Mills; and yes, he does play the guitar.
Also take a look at the songs that Mills sings this year and compare them with last year’s selections. The man is such a professional at what he does that he and the band were prepared to do a special request from a member of the audience; and they didn’t miss a beat. The 2016 Alhambra After Dark shows’ song list included: “Heartbreak Hotel,” “Hound Dog,” “All Shook Up,” “Can’t Help Falling in Love,” “Big Boss Man,” “Round & Round,” “Are You Lonesome Tonight?,” “One Night With You,” “Don’t Be Cruel,” “It Hurts Me,” “What a Night,” “Let it Roll,” “Jail House Rock,” “Little Less Conversation,” “If I Can Dream,” “Blue Suede Shoes,” “Johnny Be Good,” “The Wonder of You,” “I Just Can’t Help Believing,” “Kentucky Rain,” “Sweet Caroline,” “You’ve Lost That Lov’in Feeling,” “Polk Salad Annie,” “Love Me,” “Memphis Tennessee,” “Forget Me Never,” “How Great Thou Art” (see video above), “In the Ghetto,” “Lawdy Miss Clawdy,” “Suspicious Minds,” “Dixieland” & “Love Me Tender”.
As always, Chef DeJuan Roy has prepared a scrumptious meal that Elvis would be proud to sit down and eat. You’ll be served a three-course meal with choices in the entrees and desserts. When you go, let Kevin and the Band know that you read the reviews here on Examiner with Ms. “V” and then give them a little love.
