Eddie Kayne, a DMV-based promoter and radio personality, is taking his television franchise to “The A.” His new show will premiere February 5th on Atlanta’s CBS affiliate Channel 46. The “Eddie Kayne Show,” a popular television series that featured interviews, performances and music videos from local and national hip-hop artists, previously aired for two seasons on DC’s Channel 50 (The CW Network).
The “Eddie Kayne Show” received positive reviews for the two seasons it ran in DC, and was even rated 4.5 out of 5 stars by TV Guide – a national entertainment publication. The show gave the spotlight to many independent musicians and entertainers who came through to drop new videos and chop it up with Eddie. He also has a radio show that broadcasts every Saturday (1:00 pm-4:00 pm) on WLVS (Listen Vision).
Kayne is passionate about helping independent artists advance their careers, and he understands the ins and outs of the music business. He says he relocated the show to Atlanta to “expand the brand.”
“Atlanta has the largest music industry outside of New York and Los Angeles,” He explains. “I want to provide a bigger platform for independent musicians. We can take it nationally and even worldwide!”
The Atlanta season premiere will kick off with interviews with rappers Bobby Mac, Black Woodson and Wild Boy Ra. The lovely Carrie Michelle is Eddie’s co-host and DJ Reddz from WPGC is the house DJ. Jason Hammer (co-host and co-executive producer) is also an important member of the team. Hammer will produce a weekly video mix featuring all independent talent.
Eddie Kayne is celebrating his new show (and his birthday) with a launch party on Thursday, January 28th at the Chi Cha Lounge (1624 U Street, NW) from 8:00 pm until 2:00 am. The “Eddie Kayne Show” premiere episode will air at 10:00 pm with an after-party following. Guests should come dressed to impress because the event will be recorded and broadcast for a future episode of the “Eddie Kayne Show.” The launch party is free, but you must RSVP in advance – the venue will be at capacity. If you plan to attend, email: firstname.lastname@example.org and put “Launch RSVP” as the subject. DJ Rough and DJ Reddz will be on the turntables all night.
