The 2016 St. Augustine Celtic Music & Heritage committee is continually gathering quality entertainment for the festival. This year the “Dublin City Ramblers” and “Emish” (two popular Celtic music groups) will stop in St. Augustine during the Hands Across the Pond Concert Tour during the 6th Annual St. Augustine Celtic Music & Heritage Festival. New York natives, “Emish,” have forged their own Americana folk rock sound. The band will perform at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 12 and will be opening for the Dublin City Ramblers.
The “Dublin City Ramblers” were named “Ireland’s No.1 Ballad & Folk Group Of The Year” by The Irish Country Music Association. The group will perform on the Main Stage of the St. Augustine Celtic Festival at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, March 12; and at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 13.
The band has performed for more than 35 years, with over 30 albums – 8 Gold Albums. They have performed at most major festivals worldwide, including headlining The Milwaukee Irish Festival, The Cleveland Irish Festival, Hollywood Irish Fest, Miami Irish Fest, and other festivals around the globe. In addition, the group has performed at every major venue in Ireland and abroad, including Dublin’s National Stadium, National Concert Hall, Cork’s Opera House, England’s Royal Albert Hall, New York’s Carnegie Hall and many others.
The three-day St. Augustine Celtic Music and Heritage Festival is arguably the finest Celtic event in the Southeast U.S. The March 11-13 event in downtown St. Augustine features internationally acclaimed Celtic bands, a pre-festival Whiskey Tasting on Friday evening (March 11), Highland games, Celtic shopping and food, live music, two stages, and a variety of entertainment. And the “ONLY St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Northeast Florida” kicks things off downtown at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 12. Find the CELT in YOU in America’s Oldest Celtic City.
