Republican frontrunner Donald Trump is directing his ire at Hillary Clinton in what is his most vicious and insulting attack on the Democratic frontrunner of the campaign. At a campaign rally on Grand Rapids, Michigan on Monday, Dec. 21, 2015 Trump attacked Clinton as a loser, saying she ‘got schlonged’ by Barack Obama in 2008 campaign and remarked it was too disgusting to talk about her extended bathroom break at the Democratic debate on Saturday, Dec. 19. CNN was the first to report the incident. Clinton’s campaign condemned the derogatory remarks, but Trump is not apologizing.
At a rally giving an hour-long speech the GOP frontrunner was able to get in some of his worst insults of the campaign towards his presumed rival in the general election should he become the Republican nominee. This was one of Trump’s most interrupted rallies where protesters interrupted him 12 times including calling him a racist and bigot. Trump never one to back down called the protesters “a bunch of losers.”
Trump went after Clinton for losing to then-Senator Barack Obama, who was 30 percent behind in the polls and then sped up to compete and win the Democratic presidential nomination in 2008. Trump said, “Even a race to Obama, she was gonna beat Obama. I don’t know who would be worse, I don’t know, how could it be worse? She was favored to win and she got schlonged, she lost, I mean she lost.” Trump used the Yiddish slang, vulgarity “schlong” as a verb, although the word means penis in Yiddish.
Trump also insulted her debate performance, saying, “But I watched her the other night, it was hard, it was really hard because there were a lot of other things on better, including reading books and reading financial papers which I actually enjoy reading.”
Trump also referenced Clinton’s extra long bathroom break at the ABC News debate, where she failed to return in time to debate stage, and left everyone waiting. Clinton’s campaign excused it as their candidate using the bathroom, and the women’s bathroom is further from the hall than the men’s bathroom.
The GOP frontrunner was going to say something about Hillary’s “break” instead; he said it was too disgusting. Trump said, “I know where she went, it’s disgusting, I don’t want to talk about it. No, it’s too disgusting. Don’t say it, it’s disgusting, let’s not talk, we want to be very, very straight up. But I thought that, wasn’t that a weird deal.” Trump also called Clinton a “liar” and “crooked,” and taunted her about the general election.
Trump not only insulted Clinton he took aim at his Republican rivals and even President Barack Obama, but most of his anger was towards Clinton. Clinton claimed at the Democratic debate that Trump was ISIS’ best recruitment tool that the terrorist organization was using him for their recruitment videos. Trump called Clinton a liar, and he demanded an apology to which the Clinton campaign on Monday responded with a big “Hell no.” The string of events prompted Trump’s tirade.
Clinton’s campaign refuses to dignify Trump’s insults with a comment. Clinton campaign’s director of communications Jennifer Palmieri made this known in a tweet where she said, “We are not responding to Trump but everyone who understands the humiliation this degrading language inflicts on all women should. #imwithher.” Clinton’s press secretary Brian Fallon retweeted Palmieri’s tweet in solidarity.
