A couple of sporadic winter storms might have put a damper on the start of spring, but soon enough the chill in the air with disappear and another highly-anticipated Tanglewood season will commence! With a library of chart topping hits that have spanned over a half of a century, Country Music Hall of Famer Dolly Parton has made an indelible mark as a musician, an actress, and a businesswoman. Her latest album is called ‘Pure and Simple,’ and among her most popular songs are ‘Coat of Many Colors,’ ‘9 to 5,’ ‘Please Don’t Stop Loving’ Me,’ and ‘I Will Always Love You.’ She opens the Tanglewood season on Friday, June 17 at 7 p.m.
Top selling music group, ‘Earth, Wind, and Fire’ take the stage on Saturday, June 18. With numerous awards to their credit, this multi-genre music group has boasted hit albums such as ‘That’s the Way of the World,’ ‘Gratitude,’ and ‘Raise’ during their 50 year career. They perform at Tanglewood on June 18 at 7 p.m. With a new album, ‘Standing in the Breach’ Rock and Roll Hall of Fame singer-songwriter Jackson Browne has been entertaining audiences with his insightful music. He’ll take the stage on Tuesday, June 21 at 7 p.m.
After years of being away from the Tanglewood stage, renowned singer-songwriter Bob Dylan returns with special guest Mavis Staples on Saturday, July 2 at 7 p.m. Having opened the Boston Pops season this year, actor, singer, and director Seth MacFarlane performs at Tanglewood with the Boston Pops Orchestra Sunday, July 10 at 2:30 p.m.
A number of audience favorites return including five time Grammy award-winner James Taylor, A Prairie Home Companion with Garrison Keillor, Film Night with John Williams, Chanticleer, Silk Road Ensemble with Yo-Yo Ma, Tanglewood on Parade, and the exciting game show, ‘Wait, Wait, Don’t Tell Me.’
