Mariska, a female pitbull mix, has been held as evidence for nearly two years, and she can now be free — if she has a rescue immediately. Along with Mariska, several other dogs need help ASAP; click here for the most updated album of dogs.
Mariska is approximately 22 months old and weighs 52 pounds. She was held as evidence since August 2014, when she was only 6-8 weeks old. Her time before the shelter was damaging to her life.
According to the Ruin Creek Animal Protection Society’s Facebook page, “(Mariska) was tied out to a tire on asphalt with NO food or water in temperature above 100 degrees. Someone called AC and she has remained in the shelter on evidence since then. She has spent almost two years watching other dogs coming and leaving as she sits in her small kennel. We are seeking rescue for Mariska asap, she should not have to spend another day in the shelter. She deserves freedom and to learn what how a real family should love her. We do not know how she is with other dogs, cats or children since she has not been allowed to have contact with them while being held on evidence. Mariska’s hold is up NOW and she can be killed any time after that date at the discretion of the shelter staff.”

The animal society’s Facebook page wrote “Please listen to the audio when you watch Mariska’s videos, think about hearing that 24 hours a day for 20 months. Please help us find rescue for Mariska.”
One of Mariska’s Facebook threads states that a private donor is willing to give $200 to the rescue that saves her. You can also sponsor Mariska by clicking here.
The donation website says “FREE TRANSPORT up I-95 from North Carolina to New Jersey every weekend to approved rescues! We do not handle direct adoptions. All adoptions must either go through the shelter, or contact a rescue group in your area and ask that they save the animal you are interested in so they can facilitate an adoption for you.
