One year to this nearing April establishing AfterShock Comics founding the Los Angeles-based publisher marks the first quarter of 2016 with a finalized distribution agreement between ComiXology and Amazon. That deal brought about the current availability of five titles for digital reading through ComiXology and the Kindle Store.
“Since our official launch less than a year ago, AfterShock has experienced incredible traction and acclaim through our inaugural titles from some of the industry’s most celebrated creators,” said Mike Marts, AfterShock’s Editor-in-Chief. “We’re extremely proud of our growing content library and excited to offer AfterShock’s current and future titles to a much wider audience through this partnership with comiXology and Kindle.”
AfterShock’s digital titles offer crafted creations from a line-up of comic book creatives of A-List or up-and-coming status.
100 Bullets and DC 52 Wonder Woman famed writer Brian Azzarello pens American Monster teaming with artist Juan Doe from the acclaimed Archer & Armstrong. Azzarello and Doe’s American Monster follows a mysterious, disfigured transient coming to live in a rural, Mid-Western town. His arrival sparks a growing face-off against a dirty sheriff and the local drug market, while the mystery sways whether the new resident is the town’s new villain or hero.
Awards-winning writer Garth Ennis has built a reputation being the superstar creative whose seeming experimental or alternate original brainchildren include renowned Preacher, The Boys and Hitman. Ennis unites with well-known illustrator on Britain’s famous 2000 A.D. anthology magazine Simon Coleby (The Authority) on Dreaming Eagles. Period piece Dreaming Eagles draws upon true stories of the first African-American pilots fighting in World War II.
For a Victorian era series, InSexts is far from an expected title. This series is brought to story arc by writer Margeurite Bennett (Bombshells) and penciller Ariela Kristantina (Wolverines). The new series depicts two avenging femme fatales crossing paths with a “horrifying power” that bestows them with a replete physiological rewrite. Now they’re darker entities coming into evolutionary age while emerging deeper into the hidden corners of “the cultured and occult.”

One of comics industry’s power couple reunites collaboratively to bring AfterShocks’s SuperZero. Amanda Conner (Power Girl, Gatecrasher)and Jimmy Palmiotti (Painkiller Jane, Deadpool) co-script the crime fighting misadventures illustrated by Rafael de Latorre and raveling 19-years Dru Dragowski’s comics obsession-led decision to live out some of her fave heroes origins during her high school senior year. Except for Dragowski hero planning goes better on paper.
Replica is propelled by two British journeyman. Artist Andy Clarke is notable from tenures on the U.K. famous Nikolai Dante titular series then DC Comics’ Dark Knight titles the likes of Batman Confidential and Detective Comics. Paul Jenkins has written on fans and critics favorite Hellblazer: Constantine plus on Marvel Comics’ Spectacular Spider-Man and Sentry. On Replica Jenkins and Clarke feature a futurist story where protagonist Trevor Churchill is an agent for the intergalactic peacekeeping force The Transfer. The Earth representative is newly assigned a case so overwhelming he goes for Replication, which only catalyzes more growing troubles due the cloning process complications.
