Classes they have to offer
A Week of Geek exposes the students to many technological subjects like Mindcraft, Lego Mindstorm Sumo Robots, 3D printing, movie making using stop-motion animation where they create their own Lego Movie or a “trick shot” video, assembling and soldering their own project, Introduction to Arduino and Raspberry Pi.

All About the Bots is a class where they will learn how to build a Lego Mindstorm Robot, how to make an R/C car into an awesome autonomous vehicle, they will explore the Arduino platform, how to creat custom sensors, motors, switches and other items.

Arduino Master Camp engulfs your kiddo into the world of Arduino programming. They will learn how to process computer language, create many projects with all types of output devices and sensors and will get an Arduino kit they can use to make all sorts of other inventions.

Be a Game Developer takes all the knowledge your kids have from playing all those video games and applies them to real world applications of their own where they can create their own video game. They will learn all about the user interface of professional game development, understand exactly how video games work, the fundamentals of programming logic, troubleshooting and will be able to take pride in themselves as they clear all the hurdles there are in learning game development. They will also be able to share their game with their friends and family.

Java Web Application Development (Advanced) is not for the new student. This class is for those who have tapped all the information they can from their teachers at school, other camps and classes and possibly from their parents at home. It gives the Java and object-oriented programming students hands on experience on the basics of Java Servlets and JavaServer Pages and database connectivity as well as open-source tools like Jakarta, Tomcat and Eclipse.

Minecraft Master Camp this full-day camp provides challenges for the kids were they have to accomplish some new skills so they can take home some prizes. They learn survival challengesk, redstone circuits, command blocks and lots more. They must bring a laptop with Minecraft installed on it and there will be no pocket editions in this class.

Sumo Robot Battles with LEGO Mindstorms is a class where the kids get to build their own Lego Mindstorm Robots, battle the other students in fun Sumo Battles Matches and learn how to code their robots so they can come out of each match a champion. Each Student should have a laptop so they can do their coding and to utilize during other class activities.

Getting Started with Arduino is an introductory class where the student will come out of it with an understanding of what Arduino can do by working with projects in hopes to expose the inventor in each of them. The students should have their own laptop for the class and will come home with an Arduino Uno-compatible controller.

The instructors for the classes have both formal education and experience from working in the technology fields they will be teaching. They also provide a fun environment where the kids can work hands on and are sure to learn a lot and will be excited to share what they have learned.
Brian is the founder of Deep Space. After nearly 20 years of software startups and executive positions, Brian started Deep Space to create the perfect learning environment for kids that love technology. Brian is also the founder of The Rover Rally, Parker’s autonomous vehicle robotics event.
Derek teaches programming, gaming and robotics at Legend High School in Parker, CO. After years as a professional developer, he was looking to create a greater impact by sharing his knowledge and experience with students. His technical experience and outgoing good nature makes him a valuable asset to the team.
Paige Dickman – Assistant
Paige has been working with Deep Space since the beginning. She is a sophomore in high school and aspires to be a teacher. She recently won the Technology Student Association (TSA) State Competition for the Future Technology Teacher event. She will be competing in the national competition this summer. She is a valuable assistant to the teachers and a role model for the students.
