Five-time Boston music award-nominee Chad Perrone’s latest album is called, ‘Release’ and he has toured with the likes of the Goo Goo Dolls, Guster, and Sting. Currently on tour, he takes the stage at Club Passim Thursday, February 18 at 8 p.m.
Winner of the New England Music Awards Female Performer of the Year in 2013, Boston-based singer-songwriter Sarah Blacker is currently touring to promote her newest album ‘In Waves,’ an insightful, soulful exploration in song, utilizing ukulele, rhythm guitar, and piano. Local touring Indie/Folk musician Kevin William opens for Sarah Blacker as she returns to Club Passim on Friday, February 19 at 8 p.m.
Multi-instrumentalist Shannon Heaton co-founded Boston’s Celtic Music Fest, has taught at Passim School of Music, and was 2009’s Female Musician of the year by the Irish-American News and by Live Ireland in 2010. Making soulful music with the flute, accordion, guitar, and bouzouki, Boston-based husband and wife duo Matt and Shannon Heaton return to Club Passim with an array of charming, traditional and contemporary Irish music on Saturday, February 20 at 8 p.m.
With a number of prominent musicians taking the stage to raise awareness of racial inequality, Club Passim presents ‘Because Black Lives Matter’ Sunday, February 21 at 2 p.m. The show will raise money to support a special Iguana Fund Grant for an artist working to fight racial inequality.
Walking down memory lane is easy with composer, bandleader, and musician Howard Fishman as he delivers new insight into audience’s favorite songs and the American Songbook. He will also sprinkle in some of his original compositions on Sunday, February 21 at 7:30 p.m.
The world has suffered a number of great losses in the music world in 2016, and the unique, boisterous and evolving sound of David Bowie redefined the entertainment world for generations. With hit songs like ‘Rebel, Rebel,’ ‘Heroes,’ ‘Space Oddity,’ and ‘Let’s Dance,’ his music has been covered by a wide array of musicians such as The Wallflowers, Nirvana, and Barbra Streisand. Club Passim is dedicating an evening to all things Bowie on ‘Songwriters Tribute Night’ featuring over 20 musicians honoring his music on Monday, February 22 at 8 p.m.
On Tuesday, February 13, Club Passim is offering their stage for the public’s night to shine! Take the stage with a song, a story, or other forms of performance art for Club Passim Open Mic night open for all ages. Open mic performers will be chosen by lottery and sign-ups begin at 6 p.m.
