Whether you’re on a lunch break, searching for new tasty plates, or wanting to unwind on a Sunday, Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar is the latest Dallas restaurant to hit all the right spots! With a new menu Lazy Dog just rolled out targeting all of our brunch time cravings, you’re guaranteed to fall in love. Last month, Lazy Dog treated me and a guest to brunch so we can try out their brunch menu and it was love at first bite!
From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by friendly faces who guided us to our seats. Our server, Lowell, answered all our questions and was knowledgeable about the menu. He popped in at all the right times, making sure we had everything we needed and were pleased with the food.
Below, get look at the menu and my recommendation of the tastiest of the bunch! Along with some of the following plates, we also tasted the Sangria Sampler, which is a must!
Housemade Carnitas: I can best define this plate as the perfect combo of breakfast and lunch. This dish consists of tater tot hash, braised pork shoulder, two poached eggs, country potatoes, sweet potato tater tots (these are so good), roasted bell peppers, onions, American cheese, roasted poblano pepper sauce, and fresh cilantro.
Country Chickens & Biscuit: We didn’t sample this plate and instead ordered the Housemade Carnitas, it just seemed more appealing for brunch. But this plate consists of crispy fried chicken, chicken sausage made from scratch, two sunny side up eggs, and a housemade buttermilk biscuit topped with Cajun gravy spiced maple syrup.
Orange Marmalade French Toast: Toast served with Lazy Dog’s vanilla cream cheese and topped with housemade orange marmalade. This tastes like a little dessert! I couldn’t get enough!
Sangria Sampler: MUST HAVE! This is delicious. It comes with three small mason jar containers served with white peach sangria, raspberry moscasto, and pomegranate red. The pomagranate red is the strongest flavor, and the white peach is my absolute favorite of the three!
Raspberry Lemon Cheesecake: Finally, brunch concluded with this little piece of heaven. Topped with fresh raspberries and housemade whipped cream, this dessert is the cherry on top of a perfect brunch date.
Berry Crumble: Strawberries, blueberries and rhubarb, topped with a brown sugar oat crumble, served with vanilla bean ice cream. We didn’t try this one out. It seemed like a little too much, which is why we went for the Raspberry Lemon Cheesecake, instead.
