DeRae Crane (Colorado Springs) took on #1 heavyweight seed Joshua Temple (St. Louis, Missouri) and Crane earned a hard fought 2-1 split decision, setting up a rematch-up against Cam F. Awesome (Lenexa, Kansas) tonight. Competing against the #1 and #2 heavyweight seeds back-to-back will be a tough chore for Crane but he’ll need to focus and dig deep if he hopes to knock off Awesome tonight. Melissa Parker (Fort Carson) earned the final USA Women World Team Trials (featherweight) spot with an impressive 3-0 win over Stalacia Leggett (San Diego, California). Parker was deservedly named Best Female Boxer after outstanding performances throughout the tournament.
