It’s your favorite time of the year — Awards Season! Red Carpets rule the social media waves and everyone wants to know what celebrities are wearing. But how about what their characters are wearing? Characters like Agu in “Beasts of No Nation” or The Countess in “American Horror Story”. Have you ever wondered who designed the costumes? Well, wonder no more. The best awards show of the year is here, the Oscars of Clothing — The 18th Annual Costume Designers’ Guild Awards. Lacoste in partnership with the Costume Designer’s Guild, honored the art of clothing design in television, film, and commercials. Held at the Beverly Hilton, in Beverly Hills, CA the stars from behind the camera shined bright.
Cate Blanchett, the Lacoste Spotlight Award recipient, spoke to the best dressed room in Hollywood about her love and appreciation for the art of Costume Design. Her sister, a former Costume Designer, created characters for her to act out during their childhood games. Distinguished Collaborator Quentin Terantino proudly described his awe of great Designers completely elevating his vision on screen with the change of a costume.
