Voting for a person based on their religious convictions will not necessarily cause God to shower down abundant blessings upon this nation. God helps those who help themselves. Many Christians think that a devout Christian in the White House would cause all of our problems to go away. God has used men and women throughout history who did not use their faith as a basis of recognition, but men and women of conviction who did the right things and sought God’s blessings in the doing of them.
Many Christians have tried to convince themselves that Ted Cruz was the man for the job; but that tide seems to be shifting as Christians pray and search their souls. Many are saying that their spirit just does not bear witness with his spirit. There was just seems to be something about him that people don’t quite understand. https://www.tedcruz.org/about/ Sometimes it is the easy way out just to pick someone who says something you agree with.
The Bible says that Christians will be known by their love (actions). Those who were previously in favor of him had begun to have their doubts in light of recent revelations about his connections. They don’t like his ties to the established political party in Washington. There are two parties in an election, but once someone is elected they often become part of another party called the “Washington Elite Party!” Elections today are not usually based on facts – many are kept hidden until the other party reveals them – it is refreshing to hear a man who is proud of his accomplishments and is not afraid to share his expertise and knowledge with the populace.
While Ted Cruz uses his Christian faith as the best reason to vote for him, many hear the talk but they do not see the walk. They are alarmed by the name calling and the cheap ads, but would rather see him run on his own accomplishments and merits.
The other candidates are seemingly weak and have flip flop philosophies. If you were facing life-threatening surgery and you had to choose between two surgeons – one claiming to be a Christian without any evidence of success or experience or one who had done the surgery thousands of times successfully? Like they say, “The proof is in the pudding!”
While a man may not wear his religion on his sleeve, it does not mean he is not a believer and that God has not blessed him with many good traits, abilities, and the strength to do what is necessary to turn our nation back to God. We are all still a work in progress and sometimes it takes great hurdles to cross over before we truly realize our own potential for greatness we never knew was possible. Donald Trump may just be the real change we need in Washington. He and his family certainly are not looking at the glory and comfort of living the White House like “rich folks!” https://www.donaldjtrump.com/about
Ms. Clinton comes with so much unexplained baggage and so much distrust. There are those who fear if she is elected that our nation will endure more years of hatred and dissatisfaction because of her progressive ideas and her promise to continue along the lines already established by President Obama.
The premise is that she would be just like Mr. Obama in many ways. Voters do not wish to see the same distraction that he has brought to the nation. Many voted for him because of his race, and many will vote for her because of her gender and neither is a good enough reason to elect the leader of the free world.
We need the strength of a Roosevelt, the patriotism of a Reagan, and the hope and influence of a Washington. None of these men were perfect either. God used Goliath to show the strength of David. He caused a rock to speak. He can call to attention all of creation to bow down before Him and to accomplish His will. Abraham was an adulterer, Noah was a drunk, and Moses was a murderer and yet God used them in mighty ways.
Paul was a persecutor of Christians and was changed in the flash of a light from heaven. However, he went on to write most of the New Testament. There have been many great generals and leaders who did not wear their religion on their sleeves; but they accomplished the will of God in mighty ways because they were brave, strong, determined, and suited for the battles.
From what we have to choose from at this point, many are leaning toward Donald Trump – feeling he has the potential of being a great president for those reasons. His success could be based on the support he gets from the American people who will pray for him, encourage him, and become the citizens that we need to by supporting him and all elected officials – time to get rid of politicians and elect statesmen. As long as Moses held his arms high in the air, the battle was being won; but when he grew tired and lowered them, the battle seemed to be lost. However, his brother Aaron and his friend Hur came along side of him and held his arms up for him until the battle was won.
“When Moses’ hands grew tired, they took a stone and put it under him and he sat on it. Aaron and Hur held his hands up—one on one side, one on the other—so that his hands remained steady till sunset. So Joshua overcame the Amalekite army with the sword. Exodus 17:12- We need trained soldiers to fight our enemies, strong leaders to lead and strong Americans like John Wayne to do their part by coming alongside and supporting them both. America will continue to be divided giving the enemy the edge until someone comes along to unite and not to divide. United we stand – Divided we fall. With the help of God and Americans united, we can accomplish anything.
